" Rae Dawn Chong, Everest McGill, and Ron Perlman, Anthony Burgess created the primitive language for the early humans in this prehistoric adventure about a trio of warriors who travel the savanna, encountering sabre-toothed tigers, mammoths and cannibalistic tribes in search of a flame that would replace the fire their tribe has lost. Based on the novel, by Joseph Henri Honoré Boex and Séraphin Justin François Boex, the movie was filmed on location in the Scottish Highlands and Tsavo Nation"

" Notes: I don't know abroad, but in France, it is a classic and it was a huge success back then when it was released. Anyway, it is such a bold and inspiring picture, I thought it was pretty amazing. Of course, there is no way to know how accurate the whole thing is but I thought it was very believable. Also, they didn't make any concession such as making the characters talk French or English, there wasn't even any subtitles but I thought it made the whole thing even more spellbinding to watch."
