An underrated and heart warming/breaking treasure.

The Prince Of Egypt was released during the time where DreamWorks Animation were slowly up and running, and even though that this is one of their first films and is perhaps their most underrated film, it truly is one of the best films that they have done! Unfortunately, it doesn't quite reach the public critical acclaim like Disney animated films do, but in many ways, this film is a lot better tha... read more

Description: Egypt, eons of years ago: Pharao Seti commands all male hebrew babies to be drowned. A desperate mother places her son in a basket and lets the Hebrew god guide it along its way on the river. The basket is found by the Queen, and Moses is brought up as a brother to the heir of the throne, Ramses. Years later, the brothers, who grew up happily and wealthy, are split by Moses' recognition of his true heritage and the suppressing system his brother is about to inherit, willing to carry it on. Fleeing from the city in despair, Moses finds himself being called by God. He is given the task of being the messenger in order to free the H ... (more)

" There was a live action version 9f the film Ten Commandments as well as the Book of Exodus, so why not a animated film? It’s a risky move to be sure, but it’s one that paid off in the end. The animation is amazing, as Is the voice acting, and the film also as well. It’s also considered, to be one of the best biblical film adaptations of all time. There was also two different albums, one R&B and gospel and with songs and music from the film, and the other country music songs inspired b"

Superb!

“I could not fault this movie whatsoever, and I am shocked at the low rating. The animation is jaw-dropping, especially in The Plagues scene, which is still for me visually and musically one of the most haunting and evocative scenes in an animated film, and the part with the Red Sea splitting. The songs and music(by Hans Zimmer) are phenomenal. "When You Believe" is a standout, as is the title song. People complained about the story. There is nothing wrong with the story at all, other that it is complicated, but it is a biblical story after all. The voice talents are superlative, here we have Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sandra Bullock, Steve Martin and Martin Short voicing fairly complex and beautifully-drawn characters flawlessly. I tend to worry about A Li” read more

"21.5. Damn, I didn't remember this film was this good. From the animation standpoint alone it's one of the best ever, but the storytelling is also kickass and the soundtrack just nails it, I even like the usually lame musical numbers. Do not be fooled, this is not a film for kids but adults and the plot and the characters aren't as shallow as they might seem at first. I think the misguided marketing destroyed this film for lot of people who still think this as either a Disney musical or bibli"
