*I'm not sure what to really think before watching this.
*The only trailer I saw didn't show a lot to go on.
*I feel it's a tad soon, but then again these days it doesn't seem to take long for them to create films of tragedies and such.
*I have enjoyed all of Peter Berg's work with The Rundown, The Kingdom, and Lone Survivor.
*Matt Cook also wrote Triple 9 whic... read more

" Director: Peter Berg His 9th movie My 7th movie watched from the director Peter Berg is determined to be a serious director, but he can't get out of derivative storytelling, dull writing, and can't deliver anything memorable. He got closest with "Lone Survivor", but I do appreciate him bringing American stories to light, even if they aren't spectacularly shown. " Cast : Mark Wahlberg, John Goodman, Kevin Bacon, Michelle Monaghan, Lana Condor, Melissa Benoist, J.K. Simmons, What was it about? The story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing and the aftermath, which includes the city-wide manhunt to find the terrorists responsible. “Since I kept hearing some pretty good things about this movie, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, after watching the rather abysmal ‘Spenser Confidential’ and ‘Mile 22’, it was rather satisfying to see that, at some point, Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg actually knew what they were doing. Indeed, at the time, their gimmick was to tell together some real-life stories (see also 'Deepwater Horizon' and 'Lone Survivor') and I have to admit that, each time, they really nailed it. In this case, I was actually rather impressed by the beginning scenes. Indeed, Berg gave each set of characters just a few minutes each but he still managed to properly introduce them in a very organic and believable way. To be honest, I was rather surprised that Wahlberg was actually the only one playing a” read more

" DVD- 2hrs. 12min. First Viewing While it's too frantic to hit a genuine emotional truth about the Boston Marathon Bombing, and the script is treacly, Patriots Day is visceral in a way that's often bruising. When the film hits upon the big moments, its great; when it slows down, it isn't. The showdown between the Tsarnaev brothers and police is one of the action set pieces in recent memory; if the rest of the film had been like it, it would've been one of the best action movies of the decade.
