The Mummy: Tomb of the Draggin' Bore-fest!
I never thought I'd ever say this, but bring back Stephen Sommers! The two previous The Mummy adventures undoubtedly suffered from Sommers' absurd excesses; nevertheless they were at least fun. The original 1999 flick The Mummy was an enjoyable tribute to the old campy movie serials. Said original film used special effects sparingly, as oppose... read more

Just not the same.
The first two mummy films were extremely fun, and packed a whole lot of replay value, giving me a reason to purchase them. They weren't the most intelligent of films, nor the most well put together one's, but they remained classics to me, my friends and family for years and ... read more

“Warning: SpoilersI do have a question, what ever happened to the slow walking lame Egyptian mummies? I mean, as silly as they are, they're still entertaining. Now we have The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, I loved The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, it was watchable, but this one was just an excuse to make some quick cash. I was actually looking forward to seeing this movie, I got the opportunity to see it today, I was excited, but unfortunately, we now have Chinese mummies that can do anything that will fit into the CGI budget. Another disappointment was the recasting of Evelyn, I know Rachel Weisz turned this script down, but she was seriously needed, Maria Bella, who is a decent actress, actually made Evie a very flat character and not as enjoyable. Then not only that, but we have Brendan” read more

"3.5. 2020 An ancient Chinese emperor is awakened and the heroes from the previous film must prevent him from conquering the world with his gigantic terracotta army. The third film in the series is easily the least entertaining and the most forgettable one. Actors like Brendan Fraser and John Hannah can't do much when the script is so generic and even the action scenes are boring."

" DVD- 1hr. 52min. First Viewing It looks good, but The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is missing the heart, among other things, that the original two had. The story is weak, the actors are bored (Mario Bello is woefully miscast), and everything about it feels like an afterthought. It's a sequel that nobody really needed, nor wanted.
