A good movie

Since I’m a huge fan of Alfred Hitchcock’s work, I was really to check this flick. I wonder if it was his first real success. I mean, before that he already did direct about almost 20 movies but they were all pretty much obscure. Anyway, Hitchcock would even remake this flick 20 years later with James Stewart and Doris Day with even more success. Since I already saw the 2nd version, I wasn’t... read more

Films that absolutely needed that remake. (10 movies items)

"Alfred Hitchcock, who made both of these films, said: "Let's say the first version is the work of a talented amateur and the second was made by a professional.""

Movie Reviews (201-250) (50 movies items)

" The usual touch of great visual images add much to this Hitchcock classic with it's great pace, intriguing story, intriguing heroine and the excellent villain played by Peter Lorre as the main reasons to see the film. The overlong climax and Leslie Banks' stiff hero is not as good."

Moviewatcher122's 2016 Film Diary: May (28 movies items)

"May 23 "Tell her they may soon be leaving us. Leaving us for a long, long journey. How is it that Shakespeare says? "From which no traveler returns." Great poet." I decided that I should see the original The Man Who Knew Too Much before I see the 1956 version that Alfred Hitchcock made himself. This was a decent movie, but I think it might be the weakest film I've seen from him so far. It still was well-written, the performances were pretty good and it did have an interesting story, but it a"
