"Pros: The make up effects by Tom Savini The over atmosphere of the film, and initially not knowing who the killer is. The music by Henry Manfredini. The ending. Adrienne King As Alice, and Betsy Palmer, as Pamela Voorhess. Kevin Bacon, in one of his first film roles. The scares. Con: Some are turned off by the violence, that occurs in the film."

"Critics felt that it was a generic slasher film, that offered next to nothing. My thoughts: It’s one of my favourites of the franchise, and a pretty solid start as well."
