" Set in 1765, during the reign of Louis XV, an epic adventure based in part on a well-known French legend. In a rural province of France, a mysterious creature is leaving a trail of mutilated corpses across the countryside, savagely killing scores of women and children. Unseen, possessed of enormous strength and a seemingly near-human intelligence, the beast has eluded capture for years. Desperate to end the growing unrest of the populace, the King sends in a renowned scientist and his Haud"
"Watched on: January 24th, 2024. I enjoyed it, despite its long duration of nearly 2 in a half hours. The horror aspect was sorta lacking as well as my expectations of the said "creature" of the film which is barely relevant throughout the film itself. It's a bit more on the betrayal / romantic / martial arts side.. which was an odd take to go with, but I'm not really complaining, it's more of just something I noticed while watching. Music was good as well, so I'll give the film that. "
" First Viewing Viewing Date: March 7th Via: Google Play Plot: In 18th-century France, the Chevalier de Fronsac and his Native American friend Mani are sent to the Gevaudan province at the king's behest to investigate the killings of hundreds by a mysterious beast. Rating: 6.8/10 Why Did I Watch It? Some film buffs I follow recently posted about it, which put it back on my radar."

"Is it real? Or is it something else? Well?"
"A really cool blockbuster epic from France that is half historic film, half horror adventure. A beastly creature is terrorizing the locals of the southern French province of Gévaudan. But is it an actual werewolf of many a folkloric legend 0r just an oversized man-eating wolf? There are only two men who can find out, and one them is the dude who hosts Iron Chef America! Not since the Wolf-Man took on Abbott & Costello has there been such a clash of legendary titans! "
"26.2. Christophe Gansin aikansa megabudjetilla tehty kauhutoiminta alkaa ihan lupaavasti. Budjettia on mennyt hyvällä tavalla 1700-luvun luomiseen. Lähes kaikki CGI:ttä tehty näyttää hienolta ja sellaiselta historiaelokuvalta, jollaista katselen oikein mielelläni. Muistan kuinka noin 15 vuotta sitten ajattelin Gansin olevan kiinnostava ohjaaja, ja ymmärrän kyllä, miten teinipoika on ajatellut hidastusten ja nopeutusten välillä vaihtelevan pyörivän kameran olevan jotain upeaa. "The Beast of Gevaudan The Beast of Gevaudan, is the historical name associated with a man-eating animal or animals which terrorized the former province of Gévaudan (consisting of the modern-day département of Lozère and part of Haute-Loire), in the Margeride Mountains of south-central France between 1764 and 1767. The attacks, which covered an area spanning 90 by 80 kilometres (56 by 50 mi), were said to have been committed by one or more beasts with formidable teeth and immense tails, acco"
