"Watched on: November 10th, 2024. Wow, that was really good... didn't expect it to be what it was. Going after a topic like "snuff" is pretty deep, as it's probably up there with some of the harshest realities of our world that we live in. Nicholas Cage did a brilliant job in this, it may actually be one of my favorite roles he's done."

The film seems to depict a brutal murder of a young woman and the private detective ends up in all sorts of troubles while exploring the darkest side of humanity. Schumacher's thriller has many good elements but it feels unbalanced and somehow aimless. Near the end the film turns into a generic vigilante film but the atmosphere is still mostly quite captiv"
