There are so many Reasons why Ren & Stimpy is my favorite animated series of all time.Let me describe the ways. The show debuted in 1991 as one of the original 3 Nicktoons.Out of those 3 Ren & Stimpy was the most interesting, and the best out of the bunch easily. The 1980’s in animation was more known for creating brands to sell toys.Nickelodeon seeing this decided why don’t we give creators more control. So they created Nicktoons if Ralph Bashki’s Mighty Mouse started the new Creator Driven cartoons,Ren & Stimpy solidified it’s arrival.

The show was edgy and dark, and it harkened back to the golden age of animation. It took everything fun about cartoons and put them all in one show.It was ripe with new ideas and old ideas as well. The show took advantage of their being shows that came before it,and you could tell.It was filled with homages instead of cliches.

The art of the show was simply amazing. You can tell JohnK and crew worked their ass off making an amazing show week in and week out.The most noticeable thing was the great use of acting by the characters. At times Ren can go into a nutty insane rant and you would believe every damn word of it.This is especially noticeable in “Space Madness”.An episode I like to call the greatest piece of TV animation I’ve ever seen.

Ren & Simpy was an amazing show that was filled with great moments that has yet been duplicated. It was a show that helped change everything.A show I believe is the greatest of all time.

This is the cartoon that put Cartoon Network on the map.Dexter’s Laboratory debuted in 1996 during the early years of Cartoon Network. The Show officially started on Cartoon Network’s What-A-Cartoon show in a short created by Genndy Tartakovosky.

The protagonist of the show was Dexter a very short boy genius who had built a secret Laboratory. The only problem he has is that he can’t get his stupid older sister Dee Dee to leave. She’s in there day in day out,and whatever he does he cannot get rid of her no matter what. The show also had secondary shows such as Dial M for Monkey (A show about Dexter’s pet monkey who is secretly a superhero) and The Justice Friends(A parody of superheroes where the heroes live together in the same apartment)

Dexter’s Laboratory was a very well done show.It had everything done right from production design all the way down to writing. The show was top notch. It had a unique design that was either very angular or very curved. The design seemed like it was inspired by Hanna Barbara and Jay Ward, but I personally think that they took the style, and transformed it enough to the point where it becomes something on it’s own.

Dexter’s Lab lasted multiple season with Genndy until eventually the show went on without him.Nevertheless Dexter’s Laboratory is a groundbreaking show.A show that has earned it’s spot in cartoon history.

After Beavis and Butthead ended Mike Judge wanted to do another show. That show was King of The Hill.Apparently Mike Judge was inspired by “Do The Right Thing” to create the series. He liked the dynamic of the old men at the corner all talking to each other. It made him think that he should make a show like that set in his Hometown of Texas, and King of The Hill was born.

King of The Hilll was a basically an animated sitcom that was so good in my opinion that it put alot of Live-action ones to shame. The show centered around propane salesman Hank Hill and his family and Friends in fictional Arlen Texas.Hank was very conservative to the point where he became unlikable.Even with that the show still flourished and was hilarious.

King of The Hill was a great show that had great writing. It lasted 13 great season on FOX.I would have to say it very a very consistent show, and Mike Judge did a great job on it.

Who knew a show about a talking sponge could be so fun.Spongebob Squarepants made it’s television debut in 1999.The show was quirky, fun, and pretty unpredictable. The odd nature of the show really pulls you in.

The show is basically about a Sponge who lives in a pineapple under the sea.He works at a fast food joint, and has crazy adventures when he’s off.The cast of characters of this show really play well off of Spongebob. To me he’s best when he’s pestering Squidward, but I think most people love his friendship with Patrick.

Some have said that the show has declined in quality, but I say it’s still fine. When it goes on to get to Simpson’s level then we have a problem.Spongebob has grown to be a household name, and has gone on to have a plethora of merchandise. It’s a great show that I think is one of the best things Nickelodeon has ever done.

I know that this show is barely in it’s fourth season, and I may be jumping the gun putting this show so high, but it’s a fantastic show.Adventure Time was created by Pendelton Ward in 2008 for Nickelodeon, and Nickelodeon being the idiots that they are decide to pass on the show.Eventually Cartoon Network picks up the show and it debuts in 2010.

Adventure Time is a very surreal animated series about a boy named Finn and his best friend Jake the Dog.Together they live in the land of Ooo,A post-Apocalyptic version of earth that has turned into a weird fantasy land.Finn and Jake are constantly having adventures in the strange Land of Ooo.Whether it’s fighting the Ice King or traveling to the Nightosphere.

Adventure Time is well written and has a very unique art style that’s meshes perfectly with the tone of the rest of the series. The show has potential to be a classic, but to me it already is.

Back in the 90’s MTV was mostly known for music videos and The Real World. Then they started to foray into animation. One of their series was Beavis & Butthead.A cartoon created by Mike Judge about two young boys who aren’t the sharpest tools in the shed.Beavis and Butthead may have been idiots, but the show was brilliant. It seems that they were written to be stupid in a very smart way .

Beavis and Butthead would often get into wild adventures causing miscellaneous mischief, but when they weren’t out causing trouble doing stupid shit, they were in the house watching music videos. They would pretty much blast the hell out of sucky videos or they would rarely like them.

Recently MTV brought Beavis and Butthead back for a new run,and it was as funny as it was before. The only major thing that they changed was the addition of them skewering more than music videos.I really hope it comes back for another season, but if it didn’t it would still be a landmark in pop culture.

Nickelodeon in the 90’s had a lot of quality cartoons, and Rocko’s Modern Life was easily one of them. For a show that was on Nick it sure featured some risky adult humor.I mean Rocko worked at a sex hotline before. As a kid you don’t really notice them, but as an adult it’s pretty damn clear.

The show centered around a wallaby name Rocko who lives in the town of O-Town.There he has friends like a steer named Heffer and a Turtle named Filbert. He constantly gets himself into numerous crazy situations that he usually gets out of in unconventional ways.

The show itself was very hilarious. It had a great sense of humor. The show was kinda surreal and grounded at the same time.It was an ingenious cartoon that was a great addition to Nickelodeon’s lineup.

“Hey Rocky Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat”.One thing Bullwinkle could never do is pull a rabbit out of his hat.Bullwinkle was a certified klutz, and he was a very lovable one indeed. The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show was a quick witted always on it’s toes animated series.A show that helped inspire almost every other cartoon I ever enjoyed. The show itself was hilarious, and it’s still to this day one of the finest animated series of all time.

Rocky and Bullwinkle were a 2 man crew who would constantly have to stop Boris and Natasha.Boris and Natasha were a duo of evil spies who wanted to takeover the world, and for some strange reason they had to deal with a Moose and a Squirrel. There were other segments that appeared on the show such as Peabody and Sherman,Dudley Do-Right,and Fractured Fairy Tales. All of which were great segments.

Rocky and Bullwinkle was a creation of the genius that is Jay Ward. Some may say the art style is primitive don’t realize the complexity and brilliance of the designs.Designs that changed animation. This show is a fantastic show, and I highly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t seen it.

The Critic (1994)
I have no problem saying that Jay Sherman is my spirit animal.Jay Sherman was a film critic on ABC’s (Later moved on to FOX) The Critic. The show was created by Al Jean and Mike Reiss of The Simpsons. The show was off the wall hilarious. The Critic was a very quick witted, well written show. The show starred Jay Sherman a NY film critic who had his own television series called Coming Attractions.

Jay Sherman was very sarcastic person who kinda hated everything. His film reviews mostly ended with him saying “It Stinks”.He was very mean spirited when it came to films, but when he was outside of work he had heart, and was a very nice person. It’s like film brought the worst out of him.Another thing I liked about The Critic was the strong cast of characters. Not a single character was wasted in my opinion. The show made great use of everyone.

The Critic was really quotable, and it also had some hilarious film parodies that would put Family Guy to shame,It’s just sad that the show never got the run it deserved.

The Boondocks (2005)
Originally starting in The Diamondback (University of Maryland’s school newspaper). The Boondock eventually became nationally syndicated, and popular enough to become an animated series on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. The Strip and cartoon was created by Aaron Mcgruder. The show center around two kids who live with their grandfather in the suburbs of Woodcrest. It features a wild array of characters from the Crazy self-hating Uncle Ruckus to the Gangsta white guys Ed & Gin Rummy. It has a great supporting cast.

The Boondocks is a show that touches on numerous social issues, and puts an entertaining spin on them.A Spin that’s both hilarious and insightful.Personally I think they do a way better job than South Park when they tackle things.

Since the show can be controversial. It has also garnered some criticism and has had some episode banned in the US,but to be honest I could care less. The show is fantastic.I really hope we’ll be seeing more of Boondocks for many years to come.
Cartoon Network is a great place for creator-driven cartoons. One of the fantastic creators was Craig McKracken the man who created the Powerpuff Girls. After The highly successful Powerpuff Girls ended he then went on to create Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends.Foster’s was a super-stylized animated show using Flash,Photoshop,Illustrator as well as other programs to create it’s animation. The style was kinda unique. It was an evolution of sorts to PowerPuff Girls style. It was a lot more graphic than usual.

Foster’s is a home where Imaginary friends go to find new homes. They stay there and await adoption(Like an actual foster home)The stars of the show were Mac and his imaginary friend Bloo.Bloo stayed at the Home becauce Mac’s mother did not want him to stay at the house anymore. So Mac has a deal with Foster’s where as long as Mac shows up to visit Bloo daily they wont put him up for adoption.

The house in this show was filled with crazy character. The crazy and Zany Imaginary friends were very fun to look at,and see what kind of weird characters they would think of next. The show also was very funny.Which is never a bad thing.Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends was an excellent show that is often forgotten.

The DCAU all started with this show.Batman :The Animated Series was a groundbreaking moment in superhero history. It was an all ages cartoon that had the depth of a more mature series. The show took a look at Batman from a more noir type of style. While most other action cartoons at the time were clunkier and had more of a realistic feel to it. The look of this show had a very art deco feel. The stylized nature was brilliant and worked perfectly. It was a style that DC continued to use for a multitude of there shows, but it all began with this one.It helped them stick out.

Batman’s rogue gallery was used effectively.None were used better than the crown Prince of crime,The Joker. The Joker (along with Harleyquinn) was the most developed villain in the entire series.Joker was voiced by Mark Hamill.Hamill did an amazing job (as did most of the cast of the series)voicing The Joker. The chemistry between The Joker and Batman was fantastic.

Batman The Animated series had a lot of positives. So many that it would take forever to list it was a great show that had a fantastic run.

Batman Beyond (1999)
If you thought the future of Batman in Batman Beyond was going to be anything like The Dark Knight Returns consider yourself disappointed.Even though it’s nothing like that story ,It stands up in it’s own right as a fantastic addition to the DCAU.Batman Beyond is a continuation of Batman the animated series.Bruce Wayne is now too old to be Batman so he chooses a young heir (Terry Mcginnis) to take his place.

The future of Gotham seems to be very Blade Runneresque. It is a very Cyber Punk/Tech Noir world now.A world that makes sense due to the latter series’ Noir elements. Most of Batman’s former foes are either all dead, retired,or in some instances still active (Mr.Freeze,Ras Al Ghul). There are a lot of new foes running around Gotham, and all of them very dangerous.

Batman Beyond is a great Batman series that can stand on it’s own,and a great continuation of the Batman mythos started in Batman the animated series.

Often called Matt Groening’s other show.Futurama can now rightfully stand on it’s own.Debyting in 1999 the show centered around Phillip J.Fry a guy from the 21st century who gets accidentally frozen, and awake 1,000 years into the future. The show is very hilarious which is supplemented by the wonderful cast of characters. You have the foul mouth robot Bender,The feisty cyclops Leela, and a ton more fantastic characters.

Futurama not only can make you laugh. It also can pull at the heartstrings. With episodes like”The Sting”,”The Luck of The Fryish”,and of course the infamous “Jurassic Bark”. You may find yourself shedding some tears.Futurama is like a love letter to Sci-fi.It’s a great show that I’m glad is back.

Hey Arnold! (1996)
I love nicktoons.Nickelodeon has a very good staple of cartoons, and Hey Arnold! is one of them.Hey Arnold! started in 1996.The show to me feels like a new generation of The Peanuts. It was fun ,it was hip,it had all the makings of a great cartoon.

The star of the show was Arnold.A very down to earth 9 year old who must solve everything, but I really thought he was the least interesting character on the show. The star of the show in my mind was Helga Pataki.Helga Pataki may be one of the greatest characters in cartoon history.Helga was the school bully/outcast who was secretly obsessed Arnold. She was a character with many layers and an interesting home life.

Hey Arnold! lasted 5 seasons and even got a feature film.It was a great cartoon.A great cartoon that’s bound to be a classic.

Sugar, spice, and everything nice were the original ingredients for creating the perfect little girls by Professor Utonium. Those plans went wrong when he somehow got some Chemical X into the mix,and thus the Powerpuff Girls were born.

The Powerpuff Girls was an animated series created by Craig McCracken and produced by Genndy Tartovosky. The show started as one of the original Cartoon Cartoons, and was a pretty big hit.It was big enough to get it’s own feature film. The Powerpuff Girls was action packed yet hilarious.A fun toon regardless of age or gender.

Being one of the longest running shows in Television history can be a gift and a curse. On one hand your show will last forever. On the other hand the pressure of keeping the show fresh must be monumental. The Simpsons began in 1987 as shorts on the Tracy Ullman show. The Simpsons has totally eclipsed that show and has turned it into a blip of trivia.

In 1989 the show debuted on FOX and it was a hit.The show was funny and brilliant. It wasn’t just one of the best animated series at the time.It was one of the best show on TV period at the time.America and the world fell in love with these yellow skinned characters.

Then it overstayed it’s welcome.I hate to be that guy,but the show is now a former shell of it’s self.A once brilliant show with a great sense of subtly.Has diverted to obvious gags and easy jokes. While I love the classic episodes. The continuation of the series has lead me to love the show a little less.

How a Cow and a Chicken can be brother and sister is kinda mind-boggling.Never mind the fact that they have human parents who only have legs.Cow and Chicken was a weird show.It was brilliantly an absurd toon.Cow and Chicken was created by David Feiss.Feiss worked an shows such as Ren & Stimpy and the 1980’s revival of The Jetsons.in 1999 Cartoon Network decided to develop his short “No Smoking” into a full series, and thus Cow and Chicken was born.

Cow and Chicken lasted 52 episodes and 4 seasons, and is a classic piece of 90’s animation.

The Tick (1994)
“SPOOOOON!”Is the battle cry of our aforementioned hero of the eponymous series. The Tick was a FOX KIDS animated series that debuted in 1994.It was based on the comic book series created by Ben Edlund. The show was a very action-packed quirky superhero toon. For one thing the heroes never took off their costumes, and to make things more interesting the whole city was filled with heroes.

The star of the show was The Tick and his Sidekick Arthur. The Tick is of course based on a tick,While Arthur is based on a moth (Which is often confused as being a bunny). The Tick was really dumb, but with the help of Arthur he was really useful. They made a great and hilarious team together. They would often face odd and unusual enemies such as the literal chairface Chairface Chippendale.

The Tick was a fantastic show.It was also very weird. It also gave a whole new meaning to the word Spoon.

Another cancelled MTV series. As you can tell by most of my list so far,I am a fan of MTV’s animated shows.I think this may be most heartbreaking to see get cancelled.3 South was an animated series that only lasted one season and 13 episodes. It was really damn hilarious. This is one show I can say is brilliantly stupid.

The basic premise of the show is that it takes place in Barder College.A College where everyone is an idiot. The stars are Sanford and Del.Two friends who knew each other from high school. Both are are really stupid. They room together along with Joe an intelligent student who seems out of place. The whole school is surrounded by crazy group of characters from the albino R.A. Todd to the hillbilly Ed.It had a great supporting cast.

It’s sad that a funny show such as this get’s cancelled so soon.Maybe I need to stop falling in love with shows so soon,or maybe the networks just need to smarten up.

My introduction to Anime was Sailor Moon. When the show first started airing on USA network back in the 90’s I watched it on and off. Then they started airing it on Toonami, and I watched it daily. Some may say Sailor Moon was kinda a girly show.I admit it was,but dammit it was cool.

I would watch anything with color coded superheroes fighting crime at the time, and Sailor Moon fit the description perfectly. The show had a really soap operaish vibe that really made you wanna keep watching. Each day I kept waiting for the next big story to progress.Sailor Moon was epic, and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

Rugrats (1991)
Have you ever wondered what babies are talking about? If so Rugrats is the show for you.Rugrats was a Nickelodeon show that lasted for seemingly forever. It was a show about a bunch of babies who went on adventures using a big amount of imagination. The show was really great show that crossed different age gaps.It was a show that was more universal than most cartoons at the time.Nickelodeon really hit the jackpot with this one.

Samurai Jack (2001)
Genndy Tartakovsky is one of the most brilliant minds in animation, and Samurai Jack proves it.Samurai Jack was a Sci-Fi Samurai show.A show that had no boundaries in ideas and concepts. The basic plot was a prince in his time was transported to the future by the evil Aku.He arrives in the future and Aku now has taken over the world.Jack must now adapt to the future and defeat Aku.

The style was a flat 2d style similar to Powerpuff girls and Dexter’s Lab.It seemed like it took a more stylistic approach than the others.Samurai Jack had a more storybook look.It was very interesting. It also seemed to take influences from various sources of cultures and styles film.It was like each episode took to do something different and succeeded.Samurai Jack was a superb show that took risks that paid off well

Daria (1997)
There was a point in time when MTV was a good place to find great alternative animated shows.Great shows like Daria.Daria was originally a minor character in Beavis and Butthead. She didn’t really stick out much except mostly for the song they did whenever she came by (Diarrhea Cha cha cha).Until she finally escaped Highland and moved to Lawndale. There Daria felt like she was stuck in a suburban nightmare. She had to deal with her materialistic sister and The other idiots at Lawndale high.I would say her only friend really Jane (And later Tom,but that’s a whole other story).

Jane and Daria were great together. They were both cynical and very sarcastic. The whole cast in general meshed well.I thought Daria was a fantastic show that I wish MTV would really make something similar to again.

Freakazoid! (1995)
As you can tell from most of my list.I am a pretty big fan of WB’s style of doing things.Like Animaniacs and Tiny Toons,Freakazoid was a funny show.Originally the show was going to be more like Warner’s other series Batman and Superman.Eventually the show got turned into a full blown comedy, and I think that worked out best for everyone.

The humor of Freakazoid was very zany and off the wall, yet subtle at times. It had a great balance. One minute he’s bouncing off the wall the next he’s half way calm.I would say Freakazoid was a good example of tone in animated series. For the most part I think it surpassed most of the other WB comedy toons.

2 Stupid Dogs (1993)
If you told the 2 title characters that what the name of the show was. They would probably say “Where?”.2 Stupid Dogs is a show about well 2 Stupid Dogs. The dogs had no names they were known as “Big Dog” and “Little Dog” respectively. The show was pretty well done for a show about 2 Stupid Dogs.Which isn’t surprising when you see the staff who started out on the show. It’s hard to say which dog was smarter.Since they both were dumb in very different ways.

Also on the show was Secret Squirrel a remake of the 1960’s cartoon that was just as good as 2 Stupid Dogs. It’s the same as the classic series, but I would say they improved upon it.2 Stupid Dogs helped launch the careers of Genndy Tartakovsky,Craig McCracken ,and Butch Hatman along with others.I would say they all got a great start.

Doug (1991)
Part of the original Nicktoon line-up.Doug was basically a coming of age story of a kid living in Bluffington. You had Doug’s best friend Skeeter,The girl he had a crush on Patti,The Bully Roger, and ton of other crazy out there characters. It was basically learning how to live in this new town he has moved to.He was slowly learning the ropes when…

Disney makes it all worst. His world literally gets flipped turn upside down in the first episode.Patti is now being home-schooled,Roger is Rich, and The middle school is now owned by Bebbe Bluff. The show was a radical change, but it was still enjoyable. Both incarnations were good.Doug was a great coming of age story.Disney and Nickelodeon both did it justice.

Underdog (1964)
At first look many would think that this was a Jay Ward series.I was surprised too when I found out it wasn’t.Underdog was a show about an anthropomorphic dog who secretly was a Superhero. He was obviously based on Superman with his costume colors switch around. The show itself was pretty exciting for a show about a dog with superpowers. He constantly fought either the evil scientist Simon Bar Sinister or the crime lord wolf Riff Raff. Most of the time he was saving the lovely Sweet Polly Purebread.Underdog was a fantastic show and is a definition classi

At first I didn’t know what to expect with this series, all I knew was that Genndy Tartakovsky was the man behind it and it featured giant robots. That’s all I needed to know that I was in.Sym-Bionic Titan in my opinion was very comparable to Power Rangers or a multitude of other Big Robot Shows. It also has a feeling of a John Hughes film. All of which are a very good mixture.

Sym-Bionic Titan was just as good as Genndy’s previous outings. It just didn’t get the chance to live up to it’s expectations. If this lasted longer I think it could have been Cartoon Network’s answer to Avatar The Last Airbender, but I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

The PJs (1999)
As much as I am a fan of Spike Lee.I totally disagree with him on his opinion on the show.As stereotypical as The PJs were it still was a funny show.Debuting in 1999 on FOX The PJs were the brainchild of Eddie Murphy and The Daily Show’s Larry Wilmore.Eddie Murphy voiced the main character Thurgood Stubbs who was the Super of a Detroit Projects. I have to say it should have lasted longer than 42 episodes, but I think the ratings and controversy got to it.

Perhaps the best example of scope in the DC animated universe.Following their adaptions of Batman and Superman.Everyone knew it was time for the Justice League. The first Justice League animated series debuted in 2001,and featured the likes of Batman,Superman,Wonder Woman,The Flash,Green Lantern,Martian Manhunter, and Hawkgirl. The show feature a vast array of Villains from Lex Luthor to Giganta it lasted two very good seasons until it was transformed into Justice League Unlimited.

After the 2 seasons of Justice League ended.WB decided to add more to the show. That’s when Justice League Unlimited was created.Justice League Unlimited boosted up the number of heroes of Justice League from a small group to more than tripled that amount. The group was large which lead to a bigger amount of stories. The cast became more of an ensemble.Justice League was a great way to end the Timmverse. The only complaint is that I would have loved more.
Another show MTV cancelled prematurely.Downtown was a well written comedy about a group of 20 somethings(with a couple of high schoolers) living in NYC.It was kinda like Daria, but it was a little crazier. The show only lasted 13 episodes and one season which is very disappointing. The main character was Alex.Alex wasn’t the coolest guy,but he was a very relatable character. He had his best friends Jen and Goat (Who later showed up on Cartoon Network’s Megas XLR) who were his support system. The show also featured Alex’s sister Chaka and her high school buddies.

The show is quintessentially 90’s.Sometimes I feel think it was ahead of it’s time.MTV really dropped the ball with this show. The least they can do is give it a DVD release.

“Angela!Angela!”as Angela herself would say.Angela Anaconda was a Canadian animated series that used a similar cut-out approach as South Park.Unlike South Park Angela Anaconda was appropriate for young children.Angela debuted in America as part of Kablam. It wasn’t until some time later we got full shows in America. The show was really imaginative.

The girl would think of something really embarrassing to do her adversaries, but she would never end up doing it.She was constantly thinking of inventive fantasies, but she never acted them out.It made for fun television.Angela Anaconda was a very enjoyable show.
The DCAU is one of the greatest universes in cartoon history. It’s very fun to see all the connections come into play.In 1996 DC decided to make a new Superman cartoon. They wanted the show to fit in the same universe as Batman TAS,and thus the DCAU was born.Superman the animated series was totally opposite of the Batman series. It was a lighter story and it feature more of an all ages quality.Even though it wasn’t that dark of a show it still remained a very well written series. It was the best cartoon about Superman since the Fleischer toons in the 40’s.In conclusion it was a great show that featured Superman at his very best.It showed how great Superman can be.

South Park (1997)
I think this may be not only one of the most vulgar cartoons on TV,but one of the most vulgar shows period (Not that there’s anything wrong with that). South Park debuted in 1997.The show immediately grew criticism from parents. The centered around 4 kids living in South Park,Colorado. The show was very successful. It was successful enough to garner a feature film.South Park with it’s vulgarity is an amazing show.Throughout the years it has gotten increasingly more political.Although some people hate the show it has become I still find it pretty good.South Park is here to stay.

Throughout the years Disney has made numerous show about Teens, and I think this may be the best one.Pepper Ann was a a show about a girl that was way too cool for 7th grade. She was pretty dorky in actuality. She would constantly do mischievous things that would get her in trouble someway, and it was all so very entertaining.

Pepper is another show that had a very strong supporting cast. Her friends (Milo & Nicky) were very interesting .As well as her equally quirky mother.Pepper An was one of Disney’s best achievements one would say it was one in a million.

Way back in the far away past of 1993.Someone decided “hey let’s make a new Little Lulu cartoon.”When you think about it the quality can go either way. It’s either sink or swim, and this show swam.Little Lulu was originally a comic series dating back to 1935.It was a funny little strip that grew to be very popular.Popular enough for an HBO show decades later.

The Little Lulu Show followed the misadventures of the title character and all her crazy friends. Each show would begin with Lulu doing a stand-up comedy routine (ala Seinfeld). The show had a charm about it that was undeniable. It lasted 5 years on HBO.I would say 5 very funny years.

Animaniacs (1993)
Do you love extremely annoying characters? No?I would say watch Animaminacs anyway it’s a fun show.Animaniacs was the brainchild of Tom Ruegger and Steven Spielberg.Following up on the success of Tiny Toons .WB had a string of funny and zany fast paced cartoons that got away with so much that would seem inappropriate for it’s demographic. The premise of the show was very loose. It’s just three siblings (of an androgynous species) doing crazy stuff around the Warner Lot,with the staff trying to control them.Animaniacs was also a house for numerous other short films including the very popular Pinky and The Brain.Animanics was a show that was really great at it’s time.If you have never watched it I suggest you watch these extremely annoying characters.

I call this show Nickelodeon’s biggest misstep.Production costs be dammed Invader Zim was a really funny show.A show that never really got a chance to live out it’s full potential. The show was basically about an Alien (Zim) and his sidekick (Gir) being sent to Earth to takeover the planet. No one knows he’s an alien, but one student. That one student was Dib.Dib was obsessed with capturing Zim,but he never really got the chance to.Invader Zim was a fine animated show.I guess it was a little before it’s time

Muppet Babies (1984)
f you ever wanted to use your imagination, but never knew how.The Muppet Babies can teach you a few things. That was the thing about the Muppet Babies it was a good show that wasn’t too preachy.Muppet Babies is a spinoff of The Muppets Take Manhattan which is a spinoff of The Muppet Show (crazy right). Now the Muppets are kids in a nursery ran by a faceless nanny.Who knows how the hell they got there, but who cares. It was a great show.My only question is what happened to Skeeter.

Case Closed (1993)
was never the biggest anime fan. When I was younger I watched more American styled cartoons, but as I grew older I began to tolerate anime more. This is one of the shows I tolerated.Cased Closed (Or Detective Conan) was a show I began watching on Youtube a year or so ago. It’s a very fun show that was about a teenage detective who got turned into a kid again, and solve various crimes. The show was very fun at times, and It was very dark at times. It had a really good mixture of both.I never finished watching Case Closed, but I will forever remember it as a great show.

Who knew a cartoon about a womanizer could be so funny.Johnny Bravo debuted in 1997 as one of the first 3 Cartoon Cartoons. The show revolved around Johnny Bravo and his horrible luck with the ladies. You’ll also get stories centered around Johnny getting into crazy adventures as well.During the later seasons they added characters like Carl and his Father who never really added much to the show, but Johnny was still the centerpiece so the show prospered.I still say that this is the best thing Seth Mcfarlane ever worked on.
Watch out for that tree!!George of the Jungle is coming through it.George of The Jungle was pretty much a klutzy Tarzan.Created by Jay Ward the genius behind Rocky and Bullwinkle and Dudley Do-Right.George of The Jungle was fantastic. It’s just as funny and zippy as Jay’s other shows. It also spawned film series and a remake in 2007.Neither of which was as good as the original.

Jinkies usually means Velma has found a clue.A Pup named Scooby-Doo is pretty much the only Scooby-Doo show I have ever enjoyed. It’s like Scooby-Doo finally became a cartoon.Instead of being stiff and dull it was fun and vibrant. All the characters suddenly became caricatures, and I loved every second of it.It was the anti-Scooby show.A Pup Named Scooby-Doo was a really good show. That barely had an effect on most of franchise.

This is one example of the adaptation being better than the original work it’s based on.Garfield and Friends is a pretty funny show.Garfield’s smug sense of entitlement pretty much perfectly sums up the attitude of a cat.As mean as Garfield is he’s totally not unlikable. He’s a pretty fun character.

The Show also featured a second segment called U.S Acres.Which was about farm animals living on a farm. The show was just as good as Garfield. The farm was run by a pig named Orson who ran a farm filled with all these other crazy animals who would get on his nerves.

I have to say Garfield and Friends was a good show.A good adaptation of a okay comic strip.

Before Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast there was Cartoon Planet.Cartoon Planet is Arguably the weirdest thing ever shown on Cartoon Network. While Space Ghost Coast 2 Coast was a talk show.Cartoon Planet was more of a variety show.A variety show with some of the weirdest songs you’ll ever hear. The weirdness was pretty much the show’s highlight for me.It was just a weird show all around, and it worked.

Little versions of characters aren’t always good. They can go either way in terms of quality. This is an example of it being done right.Tiny Toon Adventures was a spinoff of The classic Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies animated shorts. It featured little characters of almost every character in the Looney Tunes universe. As they learn from their mentors the original characters at Acme University.

The show had a very witty off the wall tone to it.It was sorta different to the classic shorts, but I believe it held it’s own.Tiny Toon Adventures is a spinoff done right.I just wish that we can see these characters again.
Originally getting it’s start on the hilarious Rocky & Bullwinkle.Dudley Do-Right eventually got spun off into his own funny show as well.Dudley Do-Right was a cartoon about Canadian Mountie who was not that bright.Even with that he made himself useful, and somehow found a way to stop the evil Snidely Whiplash, and save his love Nell Finswick. The show had the same quirkiness as most Jay Ward productions.Which is always a good thing if your into that kind of comedy.Dudley Do-Right represented all the right things in animation.

Still to this day my favorite X-Men series.X-Men Evolution was a different take on the X-Men that payed off well. One could say they took X-Men a little back to their roots.X-Men Evolution switched up the concept from being a bunch of adults with powers to being a bunch of teenagers with powers (Which was the original concept of the X-Men). Some of the main X-Men stayed adults, but they were now teachers. They often ended up fighting the Brotherhood lead by Magneto.I really think that this is a superior show to X-Men Tas.It had better art design and Writing.I think I may be in the minority with that opinion.

Darkwing Duck (1991)
Step aside Batman,Darkwing Duck is here.Debuting in 1991,Darkwing Duck (a spinoff of Ducktales)Starred a batman-esque anthropomorphic superhero Darkwing Duck.A superhero who could barely do his job,but miraculously got things done.Darkwing Duck did not go alone. He had help from his sidekick Lauchpad Mcquack along with his daughter and her best friend.Together they defeated a wacky array of villains saving the day every time.Darkwing Duck was a nice twist on the superhero genre. It left you wanting more.
