The Doctor
The tenth doctor most of all. He is both compassionate and cruel. Arrogant and humble. A hero and a coward. He is a delicious blend of contradiction and I love him more for it. The Doctor is also geeky and cheeky and a man to look up to. But, he can be terrifying and will TAKE YOU APART. Put all of that together and you get the brilliance of the Doctor.

Frodo Baggins
The protagonist and hero of Lord of the Rings. I know what you're thinking, "but he failed how's he the hero?" Frodo suffered the slow corruption and rape of the ring and his mercy towards Gollum saved Middle Earth. He's stubborn, empathetic, intelligent, humble, and has more integrity and a stronger will than many big folk. He accepted the rings burden even after knowing what it is. The most amazing thing about Frodo, though, is that he draws loyalty to him like a flower draws bees.

Iolaus
This guy might be forgotten now since its been fifteen or more years since the show ended. But, Iolaus will always hold my heart. He's stubborn, impulsive, hot headed, and a force to be reckoned with. He cares deeply for his friends and has a heart and courage the size of a lion. As a mortal, Iolaus has the harder time in the team. Yet, he jumps into the fray without a second thought. Iolaus is and always will be my hero.

Angel of the Lord. From his first appearance on Supernatural he made a shocking impression. Literally. Now, in SPN's fifth season, Castiel is becoming more and more human. He has a deep loyalty to those he cares for and a deep compassion and integrity that allows him to empathize with the Winchesters. Cas is the BAMF!

Cyclops/Scott Summers
The leader of the Xmen. Scott is a true leader. In the comics, especially, Scott has earned the respect and loyalty of loners like Wolverine, rogues like Gambit, and great leaders like Nightcrawler and Storm. Yes. He's a "good guy" and yes he's not as popular as Wolverine or as Maverick as Gambit. But, he cares deeply about his team and about people in general. He's a brilliant tactician in the hands of a writer who understands. Yet so few understand him. Scott is a character who's whole characterization revolves around his powers. He did have a terrible childhood, but unlike other characters, he has learned and grown from his past and doesn't rub anyone's nose in it. Cyclops, to me, is the X-Men.

John Crichton
He may not agree, but John is a heroic man. Even after getting his ass kicked all over the galaxy and tortured in more ways than one, Crichton still shows deep remorse and compassion for others. Plus he looks hot in leather.

Michael Westen
Ex spy. Made of Awesome. He is good at what he does and he has a dry sense of humor and snark that makes for very entertaining voiceovers. Even though he is a closed off and cynical SOB, he has a sense of honor and humanity that keeps him human. Plus he looks hot with a gun.

DI Sam Tyler
Is he mad, in a coma, or back in time? The protagonist of Life on Mars is prickly, stubburn, arrogant, and somewhat mad. In a lot of ways he's a prick. Why do I love him then? Because he clearly cares about others and is a good man. He is smart, articulate, and snarky. He's not perfect by any means, but his many faults add to his appeal. Plus, he looks pretty when he cries and looks angsty, which is alot.
