The Intouchables (2011)
10 / 10 - I was so mesmerized in every single scene that both main characters shared. It was hypnotic from the beginning to the end and I couldn't close my eyes for a single second. I felt this movie and it touched me deeply. It may not have the best photography or the best direction but is undoubtedly a beautiful piece of art and i've fallen in love with it.

Lion (2016)
9 / 10 - I don't remember crying that much with a movie, it warms your heart with such a encouraging and real life story with a wonderful direction and extremely well chosen cast with amazing perfomances. I have to say that both Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman were incredibly raw and it's difficult not to feel what they are feeling, and ugh the looks they give at each other are just... glory. Also, teaches you a lot with all the messages it sends. It may not be the best movie of the year but it's worth the watch.
Helen's rating:
Hidden Figures (2017)
9 / 10 - This is a pure must for everyone really. The way it's directed, the photography, the music, the actor quality... it's perfect. The story is based in true events and I found it very moving and necessary. An enigmatic film that deserves more recognition.
Helen's rating:
9 / 10 - Highly emotional movie with lots of action. The main characters are portrayed in a very human way. It's not too dramatic for my taste and I just love a bit of action so I guess this movie really fullfilled me.
Helen's rating:
8 / 10 - I don't even know why I haven't seen this movie before. Original and delightful.
Helen's rating:
7 / 10 - Accurate adaptation of real events. Great directing with raw and realistic perfomances. Hands down for Ezra Miller that made me wanna see this movie and it was worth-watching. I would recommend it if you haven't seen this film at school.
Helen's rating:
Batman Begins (2005)
9 / 10 - Who doesn't love this masterpiece? It's intruiging and very thoughtful with enough action scenes that make you stand up from your seats. Truly wonderful.
Helen's rating:
8 / 10 - Nice story but the film got a bit overwhelming on the second half part but overall was worth watching and visually stunning.
Helen's rating:
Trainspotting (1996)
7 / 10 - Yes. This movie is worth deserving of a higher rating and the acting and directing are perfect but I really strugled watching some scenes that were realistic about drugs that made me uncomfortable. So yeah, if don't mind blood and syringes watch it because it gives you an authentic portrayal of a drug addict life.
Helen's rating:
Sing Street (2016)
8 / 10 - I loved it. Simply as that. This movie is made for the dreamers out there. I think it's the dream of every teenager who appreciates and loves good music. It includes original songs and the director deserves an oscar nomination for writting such a great script. The custome and vibe of the film was on point, giving continous references to big musical artists and keeping it real. On top of that, there's a strong message that is to believe in ones dream and also gets in the bullying topic which makes you love the main character even more. It was definetely worth wathcing.
Helen's rating:
La La Land (2016)
7.5 / 10 - I had high expectations on this movie and maybe that's why I put it a 7. Obviously the quality and visualization of the movie is what keeps you wanting more and more. It just blows you away with the customization, the lights, the background... The most hollywood film made in hollywood so far. Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling chemistry is out of limits, they are such great actors with a light that shines everywhere they go and no wonder why the movie looked incredibly fine! I loved watching this but I expected more, the plot is deep and meaningful but I find it quite slow and think they could have done much more in many other different ways that would make the movie more attractive like, for example, using more than one song (that's what a musical is?) and giving more development to the characters... But overall, I would recommend it if you love romance and musical.
Helen's rating:
Nocturnal Animals (2016)
7 / 10 - I thought I was never going to make it. This movie is quite dark but it is exquisite with great casting and aesthetic. I love Jake and Amy's perfomance, they are one of my favourite actors and they've proved to be great in this one. Their sensibility and powerful acting is just breathtaking. You can't stop suffering from all the emotions they bring together. It touches you deeply. I really surprisingly liked the movie even though I found it a bit slow.
Helen's rating:
Manchester by the Sea (2016)
8 / 10 - I found it a bit too slow but it has excellent photography and obviously talented actors. It's a highly emotional film with many suprising events that shock you unexpectedly. I loved Michelle William's portrayal and clearly Cassey Affleck was well-deserving oscar nomination. Overall, it's a great movie.
Helen's rating:
Sing (2016)
7 / 10 - Fun to chill with family. I love musicals with so many famous songs as this ones and even more if the characters that sing it are animals with their own personalities that are somehow deep and realted to our own prejudices. Reminds me a bit of Zootopia in these sense. The quality is excellent. I just feel like it's fun to watch and a worth watching movie with a empowering message.
Helen's rating:
The Skeleton Twins (2014)
7 / 10 - I thought this was an average comedy movie but I fell in love with the deep meaning of the brotherhood of both main characters. I would probably give this movie a 6 because I don't really dig comedies but this movie isn't your typical comedy movie, it has drama and variety that elements that made me think about life itself so that's why it gets a 7 rather than a 6. Plus, the acting is just wonderful.
Helen's rating:
Why Him? (2016)
7 / 10 - I had low expectations on this movie even though it has Bryan Cranston who I love to death but in the end it surprised me for better. The plot was basic, not bad but the fact that it got great actors as Bryan and James made the movie greater than it should've been. Also, the directing was pretty awesome and the dialogue was fine as well. I don't think the movie can go up more than a 6 but that's enough as I don't truly fancy comedy movies and I have to admit that this was a good one. I would recommend it.
Helen's rating:
7 / 10 - I didn't have high expectations because the last film was pretty boring but I am extremely glad that this movie proved me wrong! The jokes were on point, the acting was great and the storyline was pretty entertaining just like the old days. It is much better than the last one by far and I would recommend you to go see it if you like adventure movies.
Helen's rating:
6 / 10 - I decided to watch this movie because of Emily Blunt. It wasn't that bad as I expected. It was quite interesting even though I just can't stand Tom Cruise which is the reason why I haven't seen this movie already. I would recommend it if you like action flicks like me.
Helen's rating:
Passengers (2016)
6 / 10 - I didn't have much expectations but it wasn't that bad. I am not a fan of Jennifer Lawrence but she doesn't do a bad work. Overall, it is a barely average movie. Not too good neither too bad. I felt like there wasn't much chemistry between both actors which is a turn down and the film was slow and many times kinds boring but I was able to enjoy some parts as well.
Helen's rating:
Logan (2017)
6 / 10 - I love Hugh Jackman. He's my favourite but not in this one as it gets a bit boring in the middle-end. Duh.
Helen's rating:
Grease (1978)
6 / 10 - DON'T HATE ME. I don't dig musicals or comedy so there were many scenes where I didn't pay much attention because I was getting bored... I had high expectations on the movie and I don't think this movie is what I was looking for.
Helen's rating:
Queen of the Desert (2015)
5 / 10 - I liked the views and photography of this film but the plot was a bit plain for my taste. It's still a beautiful movie that I would recommend to those that are fascinated to know a bit about culture and history.
Helen's rating:
Demain tout commence (2016)
6 / 10 - It's a completely average movie really. It moves you but everything is quite predictable that you just can make up the whole the movie in the first 15 minutes. The reason why I went to see this was my eternal love for Omar Sy and I don't regret it but it wasn't that enjoyable.
Helen's rating:
The English Teacher (2013)
5 / 10 - So there it is. A good movie for a sunday afternoon when you don't have nothing better to do.
Helen's rating:
6 / 10 - It's not a bad movie either too good. It's just the best definition of average. It doesn't have much really and didn't surprised me much...
Helen's rating:
The Boss Baby (2017)
6 / 10 - It was entertaining even though the plot was a bit boring. It has funny jokes.
Helen's rating:
Beauty and the Beast (2017)
6 / 10 - First of all, I am not a 'disney movies adaptation fan' and this movie proves why. They basically didn't give any 'surprise element' to the movie. It's just a plain and simple adaptation of a film that I barely enjoy. I have to give thumps up to the acting because it was according to the movie but I feel like if it wasn't for the unbelievable amount of money they invested in the movie and effects, it will be a completely turn down.
Helen's rating:
Fifty Shades Darker (2017)
3 / 10 - At least I laughed from how cringy everything was. They must have paid the actors a lot, for sure.
Helen's rating:
Date Night (2019)
4 / 10 - Alright. There were some parts that I fell asleep or where too cringy to watch. I really love both steve carell and tina fey and that's why I wanted to see the movie but it just wasn't worth it tbh...
Helen's rating:
3 / 10 - It looked good at the beginning but it was a fatal deception. Maybe for kids can be enjoyable though but I found it quite horrible.
Helen's rating:
2 / 10 - I found it so boring I didn't even have strenght to keep my eyes open. The plot was pretty horrible, the quality was average and they got Adam Sandler to make it even worse if possible. At first, I was interested and thought I could get some laugh but then, after seeing what it looked like in 10 minutes, I stopped paying attention to it. Unbareable. I won't recommend it unless you want to see what a bad movie looks like.
