An average movie

Since I have a weak spot for Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard and since this movie was directed by Robert Zemeckis, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, to be honest, even though it was a decent watch, I actually had a hard time to really care about the damned thing. I mean, I did like the 1st act in Casablanca but it was unfortunately slightly ruined by the fact that Brad Pitt wasn't convincing... read more

Two stars in an impossible vieux Hollywood style, 'you can always have Morocco', he reverse of the Casablanca final statement. Cotillard brights more than Pitt, as almost always the female star does in old films, but it lacks heart, even the ending is so tragic

Kaliteli oyuncu kadrosu"

My Top 10 Favourite Movies of 2016 (10 movies items)

"I heard this movie described as Hitchcockian when it came out, and that's exactly what it reminds me of. Its constant uncertainty and intrigue seems right out of a Hitchcock movie; the one I'm thinking of specifically is Suspicion. I love how it keeps you in suspense once Marianne's status as a suspected spy surfaces (I love alliteration!): it's suggested that the Secret Service might just be testing Max, which adds to our own suspicions at the same time as his. I know a lot of people didn't lik"

Well, to be honest, even though it was a decent watch, I actually had a hard time to really care about the damned thing. I mean, I did like the 1st act in Casablanca but it was unfortunately slightly ruined by the fact that Brad Pitt wasn't convincing at all as a French native speaker. Sure, they tried to explain his poor accent with the fact that his character was Canadian but this explanation was rather weak. I mean, a top spy, at this level of the game, should show up with an almost flawless accent. Then, the rest of the movie was not bad but still nothing really amazing. I mean, let's assume that Marianne Beauséjour was indeed a German sp” read more
