THE hidden gem that I've been drooling for like no other. This is Mieko Harada's debut film, starring with Meiko Kaji and one of Akira Kurosawa's favourite films. Film has also won Japanese critics' award in the year of its release.

The Rules of the Game (1939)
I haven't seen a single film by Jean Renoir either, and The Rules of the Game is often considered as a definite masterpiece in cinema canon.
