I started off the month (and year), with a movie based on a book that I read a few years ago. (Stormbreaker is the first book in the Alex Rider series by Anthony Horowitz, who also wrote the screenplay for this film.)
The cast is made up of several well known actors including Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy, and Mickey Rourke. The title character is played by Alex Pettyfer.
The movie has an interesting premise, with Alex Rider, a teenager, being recruited to work as a spy. I thought the movie wasn't horrible, but it could have been much better. The pacing was all over the place and it seemed way too forced to me.
Overall, it was entertaining enough of a movie that I watched it all the way through, but it isn't one that I will revist anytime soon.

Rewatched (DVD)

This is an action packed movie based on a true story. It is about a mission that went wrong and what happened as an aftermath. About 100 Army Rangers fight for their lives to survive and get to safety.
I felt more like someone that was fighting alongside these soldiers rather than just a spectator watching from a safe distance. There were a few times that I ducked when I heard gunshots because the action was so intense. That is a not easily done in a movie like this, but director Ridley Scott was able to accomplish it with ease.
I highly recommend Black Hawk Down for anyone that likes action/war movies.

To be honest, I am not a fan of Zach Galifianakis, so I kept putting off watching this movie, even though several of my friends told me it was worth seeing. I am a HUGE Robert Downey Jr. fan so I decided to give it a try.
It was definately worth watching, at least once because it is amusing and entertaining. It also shows how bad road trips can be...with the wrong person.

North by Northwest (1959)

1st viewing: DVD checked out/borrowed from library

It was funny that this movie was referenced in Lucky Number Slevin and in a CSI:NY episode that I watched in the same week. This is an excellent Hitchcock film.
