I don't care what kind of metalcore, svencore or noise rock they call this shit, but it bangs no cap. This is the kind of intense and raw new stuff I'm actually looking for: something creative to surprise me.

Songs of a Lost World - The Cure

This album was marketed as a return to from, but I disagree. The first half is very weak and the overall style more acoustic than the old classics. I think the longer it goes the better it gets, and the last song is actually brilliant. I doubt this was by accident.

The New Sound - Geordie Greep

Nice try, Geordie boy. You took these several music genres and just edited them together, not just influences or ideas, but whole genres. That's very lazy, not creative. But it was a nice try, so I'll give you that much.

Killer art pop and neo psychedelia. There should be more albums like this. There's plenty of plastic sound, but not too much. The bass sounds deliciously organic.

You can't tell me I didn't give a fair try or get outside my comfort zone. This is great on paper, since there's a lot of influences and different genres creatively mixed here. But then again, I would much rather have something I can just pick up and enjoy instead of needing to read some special description or philosophy to find any enjoyment out of music. Like maybe you just like something and then find out later it's somehow special or smart.
In many ways this album has a lot of things I really hate in modern music, like the overuse of autotune, too much reliance on boom bass, lyrics you can't understand and shit. I know many people can't enjoy grindcore or other extreme metal genres, so I guess this is the same for me. This sounds too lifeless and plastic for my ears, I need more organic human elements.

Fuck I hate these hipster metal bands that just play the usual blast beats and scream, but then they try to act cool with these standout cover arts and some minor tweaks here and there. It's mostly just the same shit again, no creativity. You guys just can't seem to be able to step out of this stupid box.

Out of all of them, this is the best. Jarrett peaked in the 70's. At times you think you're listening to some Chopin piece, but it's actually just Jarret improvising something out of his mind. That's insane.

This is a very cool collection of live recordings. And by that I mean that it's not necessarily one song per track, but whole concerts, and the duration of this beast is roughly 4 hours. And there will be more collections like this in the listening for the next few days. This is Sparta!

I think this is their best, or among the best very least. There's not enough technical thrash metal in this world. This stuff is the only really interesting thing in the whole subgenre, everything else is mostly just generic and boring.

I think where this album falls short is the fact that Frank is playing with a local band instead of his usual pals. It just sounds less good here.

Here's another Gambale. Pretty good album. His blues-driven guitar tone sounds particularly great here. It's like he cut the speed and instead went for more pinch harmonics, bends and such.
