Solo Piano Concerts: 2010s - Keith Jarrett
8.6.

Oh boy, after I'm done with these I'm going to have to grab a good cold beer. It's going to take some time until I'm there.

Solo Piano Concerts: 2020s - Keith Jarrett
8.6.

This is a very cool collection of live recordings. And by that I mean that it's not necessarily one song per track, but whole concerts, and the duration of this beast is roughly 4 hours. And there will be more collections like this in the listening for the next few days. This is Sparta!
Darth Brutus's rating:
7.6.

I think this is their best, or among the best very least. There's not enough technical thrash metal in this world. This stuff is the only really interesting thing in the whole subgenre, everything else is mostly just generic and boring.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 3 Average listal rating (3 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 0
The Principle of Doubt - Mekong Delta
7.6.

There are cool ideas here, like all the technicality that Germans tend to do so well, but the overall quality isn't quite there.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
Salve - Frank Gambale
7.6.

It's the usual, plus I had some nice live recordings from the late 80's that sounded good. Now I'm done with Gambale. Oh, boy.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 4 IMDB Rating 0
Frank Gambale Soulmine - Frank Gambale
7.6.

This is some unofficial Russian release or something like that, so don't expect this to blow your socks.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 5 Average listal rating (3 ratings) 7.7 IMDB Rating 0
The Music of Erich Zann - Mekong Delta
7.6.

I used to love this thing, but it just sounds meh to me now.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 0
Natural Selection - Frank Gambale
7.6.

Pretty meh.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 0
Spirit Fall - John Patitucci
7.6.

Phew, I feel like I won't be listening to Patitucci ever again. This is it, I'm done.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
7.6.

One more, baby, one more!
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
A Present for the Future - Frank Gambale
7.6.

This is where Gambale started slipping. I don't know if he just tried to progress from his usual style and go new places.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Bon Voyage - Maurizio Colonna, Frank Gambale
7.6.

This duo is still cool.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 0
Live in Las Vegas - Victor Feldman, John Patitucci, Trevor Feldman
7.6.

The Chopin jazz trio is back, and it's... something.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 9 IMDB Rating 0
Natural High - Frank Gambale
6.6.

Gambale with more latino style. For some reason I really enjoyed this one a lot. The songs feel very long, though.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 0
Beams - John Patitucci, Dan Costa, Paulinho Vicente
6.6.

Boring and almost very funny jazz from you know who.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 9 IMDB Rating 0
Colonna&Gambale Live - Maurizio Colonna, Frank Gambale
6.6.

At one time it was very fashionable to record these kinds of collaboration albums with two world class guitarists jamming it out. Can't blame them, because these sound so cool.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
Live in Italy - John Patitucci, Brian Blade, Adam Rogers, Chris Potter_III
6.6.

Just another Patitucci. Nothing that special. Hang on there, we're almost done with this guy.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Raison D'Etre - Frank Gambale
6.6.

A very typical Gambale in a sense that there are plenty of brilliance here, like that one part where he throws in some cool reggae influences, and then there are parts where he is holding back too much.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 4 Average listal rating (3 ratings) 7.7 IMDB Rating 0
Ghs 3 - Frank Gambale, Stuart Hamm, Steve Smith_XI
6.6.

Another one of these, and I still like them. Great fusion with attitude, but it wasn't as tight as before.
Darth Brutus's rating:
5.6.

This is essentially the same as the previous one, but I think now there's a little more variety thanks to all the great guest musicians.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 0
An Evening With John Patitucci & Andy James - John Patitucci, Andy James
5.6.

This is very cool smooth old school jazz with some nice latino flavour. In a way I really like this.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
Absolutely Live - in Poland - Frank Gambale
5.6.

I think where this album falls short is the fact that Frank is playing with a local band instead of his usual pals. It just sounds less good here.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 4 Average listal rating (3 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Light Beyond - Frank Gambale,Stuart Hamm,Steve Smith_XI
5.6.

Ah, more of this goodness. I approve this trio.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
5.6.

Stock jazz album.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Coming to Your Senses - Frank Gambale
4.6.

Here's another Gambale. Pretty good album. His blues-driven guitar tone sounds particularly great here. It's like he cut the speed and instead went for more pinch harmonics, bends and such.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 9 IMDB Rating 0
Soul of the Bass - John Patitucci
4.6.

Less is more. This time Patitucci improvises some baroque jazz mostly alone, and the fact that he manages to make his bass sound interesting tells you how good he is in the art of music.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 9 IMDB Rating 0
Show Me What You Can Do... - Frank Gambale, Stuart Hamm, Steve Smith_XI
4.6.

Finally somebody came and told Gambale to actually play and not hold back. This album is daring and even little experimental, just the right amount of both to be interesting and enjoyable.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 3 Average listal rating (3 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
Thinking out Loud - Frank Gambale
4.6.

I listened to it, but don't remember much. I think it's one of his weaker albums.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 0
Beauty & Mystery - Lewis Porter, Terri Lyne Carrington, John Patitucci
4.6.

Read the last comment.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 0
Children of the Light - John Patitucci, Brian Blade, Danilo Perez
4.6.

Another throwaway Patitucci with piano.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 5 Average listal rating (5 ratings) 6.2 IMDB Rating 0
Passages - Frank Gambale
4.6.

Gambale doesn't seem to know what he wants: at times the songs are killer with some blast solos, but then there's boring filler here and there that doesn't do anything.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 4 Average listal rating (4 ratings) 6.8 IMDB Rating 0
The Great Explorers - Frank Gambale
4.6.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 0
Viva Hermeto - Andrรฉ Marques, John Patitucci, Brian Blade
3.6.

Another piano-driven Patitucci jazz album. How many more are there?
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 6 IMDB Rating 0
Note Worker - Frank Gambale
3.6.

A minor slip in Gambale's discography. The latter half sounds much better.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 3 Average listal rating (3 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 0
Thunder from Down Under - Frank Gambale
3.6.

This sounded at times like Metal Fatigue, except it's not as high quality.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Brooklyn - John Patitucci, Brian Blade, Adam Rogers, Steve Cardenas
3.6.

It's Patitucci. That's enough said.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 0
Jack & John - Thomas Enhco
3.6.

A very typical late Patitucci album: there's a young pianist playing piano-driven jazz that's leaning more towards classic style.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 4 Average listal rating (3 ratings) 7.3 IMDB Rating 0
Live - Frank Gambale
2.6.

This is where Gambale started coming to his own. Jazz musicians tend to blast better live, and there's truth to the saying.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Brave New Guitar - Frank Gambale
2.6.

This is very early Gambale. While he was already making waves, he wasn't all that hot yet, he could still do better.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Sight - Adam Rogers, John Patitucci, Clarence Penn
2.6.

Guitar driven jazz, well performed and pleasant to listen to.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Remembrance - John Patitucci Trio, John Patitucci
2.6.

One of the better Patitucci albums.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Devoted to You - Joel Weiskopf, John Patitucci, Eric Harland
2.6.

High quality jazz.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 24 Average listal rating (17 ratings) 7.5 IMDB Rating 0
Very - Pet Shop Boys
1.6.

If Actually had some of their best songs, this one is the best overall experience with least filler and all songs being consistently great.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 5 IMDB Rating 0
Line by Line - John Patitucci
1.6.

It's just a throwaway John Patitucci album with some classical influences. There's not much interesting here.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 4 IMDB Rating 0
Schorched - John Scofield, Mark-Anthony Turnage
1.6.

Too much classical, too little jazz and blues.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 31 Average listal rating (21 ratings) 6.9 IMDB Rating 0
Please - Pet Shop Boys
1.6.

Yes.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Songs, Stories & Spirituals - John Patitucci
1.6.

This reminded me of Hosianna Mantra, that is a mix of improvisation, ethnic and spiritual music. Good job.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 0
The Process - Edward Simon Trio, Edward Simon, John Patitucci, Eric Harland
1.6.

Jazz.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 32 Average listal rating (25 ratings) 8 IMDB Rating 0
Actually - Pet Shop Boys
1.6.

This album contains some of the best songs they ever wrote. King's Cross is the best in my opinion.
Darth Brutus's rating:
People who added this item 1 Average listal rating (1 ratings) 7 IMDB Rating 0
Change in My Life - Joel Weiskopf, John Patitucci, Brian Blade
1.6.

More or less standard jazz, but very well performed.
