Zombi 2 (aka Zombie) (1979)
My favorite zombie flick.
You can't lose with: really great zombies, phenomenal gore, tits, and an absolutely incredible soundtrack.
Also, the film got some surprisingly good acting at times.

Day of the Dead (1985)
My favorite Romero film, and one of the bleakest zombie films ever. Depressing, dark and incredibly brutal, this is one feel-bad film that I highly recommend. The villains are despicable and memorable as well.

I'm not entirely sure if I'd count this film as a zombie-film, since they aren't contagious or flesh-eating (for the most part anyway).
Still, this is a fun and really entertaining film with some of the best acting I've seen in a horror film.

A horror-comedy that balances horror and comedy perfectly. It pokes fun of zombie movies, but is still something on it's own.
The dialogue is great, and the characters are memorable. Especially Tar-Man!

A zombie classic full of social-commentary. It's not as dark as Day of the Dead, and it has a lot of humor in it.

Night of the Living Dead (1968)
My least favorite Dead film of the original Romero trilogy, but that doesn't mean I don't think it's great. It's revolutionary and full of strong social-commentary.

Cheesy and unintentionally hilarious, it's one of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen.
It's got a slightly disturbing incest sub-plot for some reason, though.
