A Wild Film Noir...
Directed by John McNaughton (who arrived on the scene in 1989 with the low-budget shocker Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer), Wild Things is a twisty, lurid Southern noir tale of sex, scandal and devious plotting. It doesn't take itself too seriously (ala Showgirls), but neither does the film sink into complete camp.... read more

“I'm still trying to figure out why I decided to watch this movie now, of all times. When I added it to my list a few years ago, I had only skimmed the synopsis, and what really caught my eye—childish and innocent as it may sound—was the movie poster. Denise Richards and Neve Campbell at the peak of their late '90s sex appeal? Kinda hard to ignore. I just thought: Why not?
My answer came with the first plot twist, which I found predictable—nothing wrong with that. Even the second twist was kinda fun. The problem, for me, starts with every twist after that. They just made the movie feel hollow and pointless. Not even the post-credit scenes could fix the mess the plot turned into.
