"27/3/17 Impressive costume drama set in India in 1947 when the British were handing the country its independence and the new Viceroy, Earl Mountbatten, and his wife would see the transition, not realising they were going to be caught up in a country divided. Terrific attention to detail about a fascinating period of history. The "Romeo and Juliet" romance added on sadly doesn't quite work."
"SCREENING: Regular DATE: March 8th CINEMA: Showcase Cinema de Lux LOCATION: Bluewater"
" Director: Gurinder Chadha Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi and Michael Gambon In 1947, Lord Mountbatten assumes the post of last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people.
