The patriotic effort by Powell and Pressburger. They needed a non attacked country, as Canada, to pose dramatically the question of what makes yoy nazi and what makes you good. Thats the sense of the sequence in tne Indian day in wich people points a nazi; the disucussion about art with Howard (the boxing revenge is silly but tolerable), the speech pf hatterite Walbrook.

" Effective war propaganda drama from WW2 about how Germany could possibly invade the U.S. through Canada. It is one of the best films in the genre and is masterfully thought through. It must have been scary stuff in the early phase of WW2. Even more compelling and shocking is it that several of the German soldiers are played sympathetically so one are interested in their "evil" plot to take over the world (like "The Eagle has Landed"). But, Laurence Olivier's thick French Canadian accent feel cl"
