The Guard can probably be described as Lethal Weapon meets Quentin Tarantino by way of In Bruges. However, it does not feel like a derivative motion picture or a slapdash mash-up. This movie is hard to describe: it's like a good western (an ambiguous hero which reveals its virtue in an extreme situation), but with bizarre humor and a dose of surreal.
