"When it comes to ranking the Hollywood Golden Age classics, Howard Hawks' 'His Girl Friday' is a film you'll find riding high on almost every list... but not mine. "First viewing - March 12th This is the third film adaptation of The Front Page I've seen, and I'd easily rank it third of the bunch. That's not to say it's bad of course. I enjoy the story and once again it's told well. The lack of recognizable faces helped make the whole thing seem a little more realistic, but at the same time I wasn't especially impressed by any single performance.
