A good movie

Since I’m a huge fan of Alfred Hitchcock, I was really eager to check this movie. It is one of the oldest he has made I have seen so far and, I have to admit, it is not one of his best movies but I still think it was pretty good. It was also nice to see a younger John Gielgud (it was his 4th movie only) and the rest of the cast was pretty good as well, especially the always dependable Peter Lorr... read more

1001 Movies ... my own version (1930's) (67 movies items)

" Notes: I have to admit, it is not one of Alfred Hitchcock's best movies but I still think it was pretty good. It was also nice to see a younger John Gielgud (it was his 4th movie only) and the rest of the cast was pretty good as well, especially the always awesome Peter Lorre. Basically, it is one of those typical spy films made by Hitchcock (check the title… You don’t get more generic than this!). Still, I thought it was really enjoyable. Indeed, even though it is more than 80 years old, "

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- July 2017 (29 movies items)

" Amazon Prime- 1hr. 26min. First Viewing Secret Agent was made 81 years ago; i.e. no matter the quality of the story is, it's bound to feel a bit dated. That "bygone era" feel to is honestly quite fine; seeing how movies were made when the medium was still in its infancy is always an amusing activity. This is all a long way of saying that if the story is fine, the aging wouldn't matter much. Unfortunately, the story for this Hitchcock film is rather dull, and he can't squeeze much from it. There"
