A country farmer in old England is terrified when his plow uncovers the skull of a demon. By the time he gets a local official to come see, the skull is gone. Children playing in the field find a claw of the fiend, and people in the cursed town start finding patches of transformed flesh on their bodies. The children form a cult to harvest the "devil's skin", usually killing the victims. The lord of the manor comes to understand the situation from an old mystical book warning of this devil's returns, so he gets a big crucifix and men to help him find the cult and send the growing demon back to hell.
