Mid-Year Oscars Predictions - 2018 Movies (10 movies items)

"Reasons for Prediction: RGB is so hot right now. With such a cast and crew involved, along with the obvious academy-baiting topic, this seems like a sure bet. Results: NOT Nominated for Best Picture ZERO Wins ZERO Nominations "

Watched in 2019: Movies (205 movies items)

"A nice, straight-forward story of RGB making an important change in the landscape of gender equality in the US. Felicity Jones is likable as always and Armie Hammer plays another perfectly cast Harvard student/grad, but they completely underused the indelible Kathy Bates. The ending is nice and the movies song, "Here Comes the Change" should have been nominated or an Oscar."

BradWesley123's Movie Journal- May 2019 (38 movies items)

" Amazon Prime- 2hrs. First Viewing On the Basis of Sex is, far the most part, the standard "great man" biopic story, with a gender-flipped lead. While that doesn't automatically make it better than the glut of cookie-cutter true stories, director Mimi Leder wisely understands that it makes it more unique, and uses that freshness to underscore an important, well-told story. I'd argue the most comparable film to this one would be 2017's Marshall, focusing on an earlier, somewhat defining, case in "
