"First viewing - Apr. 5th Let's just get this out of the way...I've heard about and been aware of Lone Wolf and Cub since I was a teenager. I'd see the Manga periodically in comic shops (or maybe it was the Dark Horse collections), but never picked it up. Later I heard about this series and it's been on my list of things I'd like to check out. It's not available everywhere, however, and I wasn't about to shell out a bunch of money for the whole series on the chance I might not even enjoy it. So "
"I was introduced to these films through Shogun Assassin, and had no idea there were actually 6 films in the series. I could easily include River Styx (Pt 2) or some of the other ones as they are all great. The father and son bond in vengeance. The geysers of blood. The baby cart and its intricate rigging of weapons. Amazing, absolutely amazing stuff. I just can't get enough of it."
" Date: 4/19/2019 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: One of my favorite samurai movies not from Akira Kurosawa and probably the best movie in the series. The action is top notch and the cinematography is beautiful to look at. The story and characters are faithful to the manga and probably is the best live action adaption of an anime & manga. The movie has a lot of great character moments and does a good job covering the themes of the depiction of human nature. I highly recommend this movie. "
