"Drop Dead Fred, pretty goes the extra mile, to ruin Lizzie's life, and I do mean the extra mile. Strangely enough, the film done differently could have made for an interesting horror/thriller movie."

The film's producers showed the final cut to TriStar Pictures, Orion Pictures, and 20th Century Fox. TriStar was run by Mike Medavoy who called the film "a children's movie on drugs" and passed on it. Orion and 20th Century Fox passed on it for unknown reasons.
