"Of course I haven't seen the show it's based on, but I hoped this might be a charming kids' movie regardless. While there are a couple of laughs, like the mocking of Dora's habit of breaking the fourth wall, it still embodies many of the worst aspects of children's entertainment, in that it constantly treats the audience like toddlers, boasting overly childish dialogue that often states the obvious, and awful acting to boot. I mean, how did the director go from The Muppets 2011 to this?! Google "

“To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from this flick but since it was involving Benicio Del Toro and since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, even though the concept did seem terribly misguided, I have to admit that it was not bad or, at least, the end-result could have been much worse. Still, you might wonder who was the target audience for this movie though. Indeed, the Dora cartoon was aimed for very small children and the intro displayed how a real life action with this character should have actually looked like. However, you can’t really have some perilous adventure in the jungle with a 6 year old so they decided to show what Dora would look like if she would grow older which wasn’t a bad idea.
