If you are a fan of the great Doc Savage pulp novels this movie could be a disappointment. It is loosely based on the first novel "The Man Of Bronze". It was been widely criticized for its' campy approach and a more serious film would have been preferable I have always found this movie to be great fun and entertaining. "Ludicrous adventure with Roy Ely as Doc Savage, a man of strength as well as brain, who goes in search of the truth about his father's death. Produced by George Pal, this romp has some silly set pieces and green, animated snakes to up the peril. The dialogue is sometimes ridiculous and it does look like a film made for TV but for nostalgia fans and those who remember it as a child, this will bring back a fond sense of the kind of films they don't make anymore."

I've read just a couple of Man Of Bronze series but I like the movie, it's weird and a little psychedelic, but it's fun.
