The problem doesn't seem to be that people are waking up dead, but that dead people are waking up.

Not exactly one of George Romero's best, but it's good for an occasional watch. Probably because it's due to the shaky camera action and the somewhat teeny bopper aura of the film, but it didn't really give a huge impression on me. I prefer the Land or Dawn of the Dead though.

First of all say that the movie is not at all original and adds nothing to the genre just repeating the same premises of the usual film director, ie, the appearance of unknown virus which recover the dead mass life: the respective hunters and bloodthirsty zombies; closures in homes, etc..

A couple of years ago, I saw ‘Land of the Dead’ and, even though it was definitely not a masterpiece, I was really surprised by the damned thing which turned out to be pretty decent. "Re-watch - Dec. 22nd I also hadn't seen this since its release, & I'd forgotten some of the details. The found footage approach isn't my favorite, but it works fine here. Once again the social commentary works & there's some humor mixed in which hits the mark without totally killing the overall mood. The effects are more of a mixed bag due to the heavy use of CG, which is disappointing. Overall it's nothing great, but I like it well enough for what it is."
