" Jack is the head writer for a successful soap opera, and he's sweet on the show's star, lovely Laura. It's easy for everyone but Jack to see that she's playing him for a sap. But a conk on the head brings Jack some new insights - and some new powers. He finds himself in Ashford Falls, site of his fictional soap opera -- and everything he writes comes true! It's a fantastic opportunity to get Rachel, Laura's character, to fall in love with him. But life isn't easy even in the fictional worl"

" Director: Tom Mankiewicz His 2nd movie My 2nd movie watched from the director Candy is never dull, forever affable, and his comedy is enduring. What if you were a part of the world you wrote? Mediocre writing and directing, atrocious editing, inconsistent cinematography style... all attribute to this being a miss for the legend, none of which is his fault, all of which are things people may not realize can make a comedy great. Added to Lists: Top Ten Performances - John Candy The Head "

Candy is excellent as usual, and there's a nice message about how we often fall for people who are wrong for us and miss out on a chance with someone good for us, and the value of turning that around. The premise is rather ridiculo"

"When: August 2nd First-Time Viewing: No. How: DVD from Netflix. What'd I Think?: Still mostly funny, and occasionally clever, but allows for too many missed opportunities. My Rating: 6/10 Other Notes: NA."

"When: July 15th-16th First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: DVD from Netflix. What'd I Think?: High concept attempt at Meta comedy, is funny, but doesn't take full advantage of its premise. My Rating: 6/10 Other Notes: NA."
