" Bamboozled is a 2000 American satirical black comedy-drama film written and directed by Spike Lee about a modern televised minstrel show featuring black actors donning blackface makeup and the resulting violent fallout from the show's success. It features an ensemble cast including Damon Wayans, Jada Pinkett Smith, Savion Glover, Tommy Davidson, and Michael Rapaport. After years, of TV shows that decidedly pander to larger audiences, regardless of portrayals of African Americans and their c"

"27.4 Yhdysvallat/Lee Spike Leen Kevät Koittaa Hitlerille -mukailussa työhönsä leipääntynyt kunnianhimoinen musta käsikirjoittaja myy televisioyhtiölle kamikazeiskuksi tarkoitetun minstrel shown. Kuinka ollakaan tästä kehkeytyy kansallinen hitti. Halvalla videokameralla kuvattu, pikimustassa ja ylilyödyssä yhteiskuntakritiikissä South Parkia lähestyvä Bamboozled taitaa olla Spike Leen onnistunein työ klassikkoasemassa keikkuvan Do the Right Thingin ohella. Vaivihkaisuus ei ole ko"
" Date: 2/10/2021 Viewed: Criterion Channel Re-Watch Note: It's been years since I have seen this movie and it holds up very well. Bamboozled is a great satire that is very creative in my opinion. I love how Spike Lee is able to do his own spin on Network (1976) by poking fun of the television industry while also criticizing it for how it handles black TV shows. The movie does a great job of covering the stereotypical depictions of black people in American history. When it comes to anti-black "

"First watched 6/21/2016 Thoughts: An interesting but tricky concept to adapt. Here the intended satire comes off a bit too mean spirited and most of the characters are too one dimensional to really get across anything meaningful. And in previous Spike Lee film where the camera work aided the story telling and environment here it seems to come off as more of a distraction. However, if you are looking to complete your Spike Lee filmography checklist give it a watch. Because while messy the ideas "
“When was the last time that Spike Lee actually had real critical hit? It must have been 10 years ago with ‘Inside Man’ and since then, he has been working mostly on some really obscure features that really didn’t get much love. It’s really too bad because I always had a weak spot for this director and he was the main reason why I wanted to watch this flick which also belongs to his more obscure work. First of all, back then, some directors were already experimenting with digital filming and while it looks fine nowadays, at the time, it was pretty ugly in my opinion. Anyway, even though this movie was visually rather underwhelming, it was dealing with a very sensitive subject (which was often the case with this director) and the whole thing gave me a lot of food for thought.
