Description: Jada Pinkett Smith was born to Robson Pinkett Jr. and Adrienne Banfield in Baltimore, Maryland. Her father was a contractor and her mother was a nurse. They divorced after only a few months of marriage. She majored in dance and choreography at the Baltimore School for the Arts, where one of her classmates was Tupac Shakur. She spent a year at the North Carolina School of the Arts before dropping out to pursue her career in acting. Her big break came in 1991 when she was cast in the part of a college frosh on the television sitcom "A Different World" (1987). Pinkett-Smith is married to Will Smith, and they have a son, Jaden Christopher Syre Smith; and a daughter, Willow Camille Reign Smith.

She attended Baltimore's School of Arts at the same time as Tupac Shakur, where they became close friends. They made a video together at the amusement park King's Dominion, where they lip-synced to Will Smith's & Jeffrey A. Townes's "Parents Just Don't Understand." Tupac acts like an MC, and Jada acts like a dancer.

Under the stage name Jada Koren, Pinkett Smith formed the metal band Wicked Wisdom in 2002. The band consists of Pinkett Smith performing lead vocals. The band is managed by James Lassiter and Miguel Melendez of Overbrook Entertainment, a company co-founded by Pinkett Smith's husband Will Smith. The band's self-titled debut album was released on February 21, 2006, by Pinkett Smith's production company 100% Women. Will Smith served as the project's executive producer. The album made it to Billboard's Top Heatseekers chart, and peaked at number 44 during the week of March 11, 2006. Allmusic reviewer Alex Henderson said of the album, Pinkett shows herself to be an expressive, commanding singer and that shows considerable promise.

In September 2011, Jada Pinkett Smith was seen/photographed leaving a recording studio. In January 2012, a video posted to YouTube, claimed "the new Jada Pinkett Smith record". On Valentine's Day, 2012, Jada released a dramatic, sensual ballad titled "Burn" via SoundCloud as a free download and, via her Facebook page, gave a shoutout credit to The Graves Brothers for production on the music. Over the next couple of weeks it was announced that the new band name was "Wicked Evolution".
