Paul Schrader and Nick Nolte are no strangers to essaying works on violent, abusive men who shatter under their own ego, and Affliction, while no great masterwork, fits neatly in with their milieu. I already saw this movie but since it was a while back and since I have this movie on DVD, I was quite eager to check it out again. Description:
Based on the novel by Russell Banks, AFFLICTION is a sobering, absorbing psychological study of the precarious relationship between an abusive father and his two sons.
