Anna and the King (1999)
The remake did not work out very well, even though it had great actors in Jodie Foster and Chow Yun-Fat. So the 1946 version is better.

Destry (1954)
Both Destry and the 1939 Destry Rides Again were entertaining. I give the vote by an edge to the older version with James Stewart and Marlene Dietrich.

Godzilla (1998)
In the 1956 version with Raymond Burr, A 400-foot dinosaur, wakes from undersea hibernation off the Japanese coast because of nukes. So that makes it the better version.
steven aka superant's rating:
Joan of Arc (1999)
Both version are good. The 1948 version has more emotional tone while The Messenger has great action.

Point of No Return (1993)
This movie with Bridget Fonda is not as good of a remake of La Femme Nikita.
1990 and 1993

The 1975 version was not that great, but it was still better than the 2002 version
