Saving Mr. Banks (2013)
"A leisurely stroll is a gift."
This is literally the story of how Mary Poppins almost didin´t happen, the movie does a really good job at combining the flashbacks of P.L Travers childhood and the "current" situations, almost making it feel that they are connected in a way, incredible performances by the overall cast but specially by Tom Hanks and Emma Tomphson, but i imagine that handling with this woman in real life wasn´t as funny and quirky as it looks in the film.

What can i say its one more dc movie, they seem to throw these out like there is no tomorrow, this time while animation is decent enough it is still sometimes lacking, same thing can be said about the action scenes, the story is just not that interesting and Penguin´s plan just seems super cliche and not only doesn´t really make a whole lot of sense but sometimes it just sounds silly, it feels like this one was just to fill in blank space, as the story wasn´t that great to deserve a film version.

you can only truly appreciate this movie if you are already are familiar of ashens work on youtube (of wich i already was and am a fan of) wich technically could work against it for someone who isn´t aware of it, but then again the movie movies doesn´t hold that responsability upon itself since its a movie for the fans so technically i dont think that argument can be used to criticize it, it is successful at said fan service, it is legitemely funny, with the typical ashens humour, and as far as movies made by youtubers go, its probably the best so far.

Mad Max (1979)
When people told me that this one was completely different than the rest i didint quite expect what i got, and coming into it right after Fury Road, is indeed quite a shock, But i think that is the main thing that holds the movie for me, the fact that its so different from all the others and that it was the trigger for such an awesome franchise, because if it was by itself i honestly think that i wouldn´t have liked it much.

The Road Warrior (1981)
Definetly a greater improvement from the first, mostly because at this point the movies started to look and feel like the Mad Max that most people (me included) know and love, story is a bit cliche following the anti hero turning hero trope (but then again almost if not all of them do this), but it is not necessarily bad at all since that is the nature of the character of Max not to say that it can be easily overlooked by the awesome dystopian world created here and the awesome action fueled climax, full of incredible stunts and crazyness that i love so much in these movies.

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985)
Now i know im in a minority here, but im just gonna say it, i enjoy the heck out of this movie, yes it has its problems, and it may not be my first or second choice out of the franchise, but i still think that its a very cool movie hell! even Tina Turner is decent in it, i do have problems with it one of them being the pacing i think the movie slows down a bit too much on its halfway point, and in a Mad Max movie in my opinion slowing down too much is bad, but luckily it does pick back up again in its climax, another complaint that people have is that it doens´t feel like Mad Max, i have to agree to an extent that the movie does turn into more of a fun "adventure" movie towards the end, but i also like to keep in mind that these are legends and stories that are being told about Max "the badass" and naturally not all of his legends are gonna feel the same, also because they end up being told by different people, so in my vision that actually ends up working with the concept of these films.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For (2014)
i try as much as i can to avoid doing comparisons between movies,specially sequels but due to the serialized nature of these films i feel like there is a exception here, where i feel confortable enough to say that this one is just not as good as the first one, it still has its moments, but the overarking stories are just not as interesting as the previous installment (and not as overarking), sometimes being a bit boring to be honest, if only the whole movie was as interesting as the last segment i feel like it would be a much better experience.

Project Almanac (2015)
i have to admit that it is nice to see a handheld movie that is not horror, its different and i like it, even though i think it didin´t really need to be one, a solid good movie, cool story, kind of reminds me of chronicle (even though not as good) but with time travel instead of super powers, i do have a few problems, among them is the fact that the movie seems to adress the ripple effect theme only when its convinient to the plot, and many other such time travel technicalities, but i dont want to approach this movie with that kind of mindset because i feel that there is a lot to pick on, the movie does a good enough job at representing what it wants to and that´s what matters to me.

Mary Poppins (1964)

funny thing is that i used to hate this movie as a kid, i thought it was just boring, and in consequence my younger self never really gave it a legitimate chance, but as i got older, and up to this point, my opinion changed drastically, and now i can safely say that i truly appreciate it and quite like it, it is in fact a jolly good time, and oh gosh! Julie Andrews is for sure one of the if not the most beatiful woman i have ever seen!

The Incredible Hulk (2008)
The worst MCU movie to date, if it can even be called an MCU movie, because im seriously considering deleting it from my mind and the Marvel canon, not even Edward Norton could save it, and im not even a huge fan of him, boring plot, boring characters, boring pacing, everything about it is boring, its the perfect example that it is very hard to pull a good hulk movie, and i cant believe im saying this but even the first hulk movie had more charisma and memorable moments than this one
Score: Just plain bad.

The Lion King (1994)

I miss the days where animation studios put true effort into making movies like these, it is hard to believe that this movie was kind of a production hell and it wasnt even supposed to be a major film on their line, it feels that Disney didin´t and still dont understand that a actual good animated movie is not just cute factor and cute songs, animation also needs strong characters and story just like any genre (even though i recognize that most kids are not gonna pay attention to those things), what else can i say, nothing, everything that can be said has already been, a true masterwork, fun fact this viewing was actually the first time i ever watched it in its original language and i gotta say that to me the portuguese version is still to this day the best one, but the english is not bad either

TRON: Legacy (2010)
A visually stunning movie indeed, and a world that is legitemily interesting and that has a lot of potential, too bad that it doesn´t take full advantage of that, the movie itself is not bad, but i just cant seem to be invested in the story, wich is preety basic and bland at best, and since i didin´t feel invested enough in it, the slower pacing, wich normally wouldnt be a problem for me, ends up becoming one, but on the other hand the characters are not that much of a problem so it almost balances itself out there, i still wish that Disney took more "risks" with movies like this, like i said its interesting idea, and the movie is successful at transmitting that idea.

to be honest i still dont know exactly how to classify this movie, its not exactly a dumb action flick, it has a very cool concept, in fact it is that same concept that hold the movie for me, but in the end i consider it more of a action/comedy film than just action, mostly because there are some very ligitemily funny moments in it and the action bits are a bit lackluster and im not sure if that is intentional, i only have a question with me though...How the fuck do you use the three seashells?!

Grabbers (2012)
"I need a photograph with it for National Geographic! And Facebook."
if only all B movies had this type of quality and effort put into them, its hard for me to believe/understand why movies like sharknado get so much attention, and hidden gems like these get forgotten in their shadows, specially when this is a quite hilarious movie, with quite impressive effects that definitely put any Asylum movies in the most hidden corner of the room, definitely worth checking out.

TRON (1982)
i still have a hard time believing that this one and legacy are Disney movies, but the truth is that they are, but definitely don´t feel like it at all, another visually impressive movie specially when you consider the time that it was made, and even though i was already aware of the type of concept with legacy, this one still felt like something new to me, it felt fresh and unique and i dont know exactly why the story in here felt a little bit messy at times mostly because of the main antagonist, but that does not mean that this one is bad.

American Sniper (2014)
This was actually the first Clint Eastwood directed movie that i ever watched, and from what i can tell he is aprooved so far, it seems he avoids a stylized type of directing and instead chooses to just tell the story as it is, and in this case a great story it is aswell, amazing performances, specially by the obvious Bradley Cooper, showing very accurately both sides of war, as to Chris Kyle himself, wether i would call him a hero or a savior that is a whole different discussion as it depends on my stand on the Iraq war itself, and that is a whole different story that i refuse to bring up in a movie review, but in my opinion you can´t blame him or any other soldier for doing what at the time was told to be the "right/necessary" decisions to be made by a country fueled by fear and rage.

Why can´t we have nice things like this all the time, i am literally exausted after watching it, and that is awesome, because in my opinion this one is without a doubt one of the best action movies i have ever seen, amazing world building, interesting characters, really liked the more silent and even a bit schizophrenic Max who is finally succumbing to the madness of this world and the fact that he is not even the main character in the movie is in my opinion a really nice change, and of course mindblowing action scenes and adrenaline fueled pacing, definitely the best chapter in the legend that is Mad Max, George Miller has oficially become my reverse George Lucas.
Score: Superb/Masterpiece!
