Sequel to Dragon Ball (1984), its probably along with its predecessor the most popular anime worldwide. Until the end of Freeza Arc i would rate it a perfect 10, but by the end it wasn't as great as in the beginning.
melonupyours's rating:
Berserk (1997)
Great anime full of medieval battles, plot twists and most importantly great character development. Has the perfect atmosphere and OST for the plot. Its one of my favourites of all time.
melonupyours's rating:
Gintama (2006)
This is one of my favourite humor shows ever. Funny characters, tons of absurdity and reference comedy. The shows doesnt mind making fun of itself. In fact they love to do it! Im still hoping that they're trolling us again and the anime went on another hiatus and it's not over.
melonupyours's rating:
GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka (1999)
Very light but great anime. It has great morals, very funny scenes and an awesome main character. Its the type of anime that you can re-watch many times and its always fun! One of my favorites with no doubt.
melonupyours's rating:
Cowboy Bebop (1998)
It's a very original work that has one of the best soundtracks i have ever seen in a anime. Interesting characters, great fights and good plot make it a must see.
melonupyours's rating:
Death Note (2006)
Death Note has in its intelligent plot its strongest suit. The authors know exactly the formula to keep you hooked during most of the episodes. The art is very appropriate for the plot and the atmosphere of this show is great. The last third of this show was not by far as great as the first two but still watching the whole show along with the OVA - Director's Cut Complete Conclusion Rewrite: The Visualizing God - is a great experience.
melonupyours's rating:
An anime that marked my childhood and a very popular anime worldwide. Not as strong in the beginning as it was by the final arcs in my opinion.
melonupyours's rating:
Baccano! (2007)
Thi first time i watched this show i wasnt hooked and stopped watching it after a couple of episodes. But after a few weeks i gave it another chance and i donยดt regret it at all. It's original, very funny (Isaac and Miria :D) and has a huge number of interesting characters. One of my favorites now.
melonupyours's rating:
A very realistic (for an anime) action show. Its has great gun fights, romance and it revolves around modern day pirates which is a very original theme. I really liked this anime, probably more than most people, but still thereยดs no doubt that its an above than average show.
melonupyours's rating:
Ergo Proxy (2006)
Very original art, great character development makes ergo proxy one of my favorite adventure animes. The art matches the plot and it has a great opening.
melonupyours's rating:
Usually in all reviews you read about an anime there is always someone saying that the manga was better, and i usually dont really care about those comments whenever i read them. But with FMA the manga story was way better and this series proves it. FMA Brotherhood is very superior to the 2003 version and im glad they remade it.
melonupyours's rating:
Monster (2004)
Monster takes you on a great journey of mistery and investigations. The character development is very good and the plot is intriguing enough to keep you hooked. There aren't enough animes of this kind in my opinion.
melonupyours's rating:
I dont like mecha animes very much, and the main reason is that there's a ton of them and they still keep appearing from nowhere nowadays. But Evangelion has a very deep plot that revolves around existentialism, and interesting character development and a few twists that make it a very good show.
melonupyours's rating:
This another series of my childhood. Its my favourite samurai themed anime. The show is good overall with some great arcs and some not that great by the end. If you like the series i highly recommend the OVAs with are masterpieces in my opinion.
melonupyours's rating:
Elfen Lied (2004)
This anime managed to have a great impact on me somehow. The story isn't that original and the characters weren't that interesting but the way the story develops and the brutality of some scenes got me hooked. It's an anime packed with violence both physical and psychological.
melonupyours's rating:
Bakuman. (2010)
From the same creator of Death Note, this anime is about two boys that want to be successful mangakas. A great story with a simple plot, great characters and a lot of imaginative ideas for mangas. Very solid anime.
melonupyours's rating:
This series was recommended to me for being similar to Death Note. I didn't find it similar at all. It has a intelligent plot, especially during the battles, interesting characters, and mechas. If you are expecting a Death Note clone, it may not fullfill your expectations. It is a very good anime overall.
melonupyours's rating:
Second season of code geass. Epic ending!
melonupyours's rating:
Steins;Gate (2011)
I never expected to like this show as much as i did when i started watching it. Its a very funny show with an interesting cast, some romance and a lot of funny scenes.
melonupyours's rating:
Very original style anime with great sword fights and an interesting dynamic between the main characters. Its a very solid original anime.
melonupyours's rating:
BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad (2004)
Solid anime about a rock band. Has a lot of musical references, a very interesting character development and a bit of romance. However it deserved better animation.
melonupyours's rating:
Eden of the East (2009)
Very good plot filled with romance, mistery and very pleasent art. The OVA is a must see after the anime.
melonupyours's rating:
Trigun (1998)
Very good old anime with interesting plot that keeps you watching. Oldie but Goodie as they say.
melonupyours's rating:
One Piece (1999)
My favorite between its long-run shounens direct competitors (Naruto and Bleach). It brings you to a very brightfull pirate world with lots of funny scenes, fights and its packed with a lot of interesting characters.
melonupyours's rating:
Naruto (2002)
Its probably the most popular anime worldwide currently airing. Along with it's sequel Naruto Shippuuden is a very solid show that takes place in a ninja governed world. This show weakest point it's the constant interruption of the main plot by fillers that aren't even trying to be interesting.
melonupyours's rating:
YuYu Hakusho (1992)
Very good classic shounen. Has everything a shounen should have, character strengh development, good fights, enemies turned to friends and so on...Solid show for the genre.
melonupyours's rating:
Fighting Spirit (2000)
Very solid sports anime. Its probably my favorite sports anime. Very fun to watch!
melonupyours's rating:
Sket Dance (2011)
Funny comedy anime. It was created by a former assistant of gintama's creater and you can see some similarities on the humor. Its not as great as Gintama but it is very good and has lots of potencial to grow.
melonupyours's rating:
Fate/stay night (2006)
Surprisingly good! Loved the mythology and the "historical" characters. I am currently watching the prequel Fate Zero and enjoying it too.
melonupyours's rating:
Gantz (2004)
Very original anime with some very graphic scenes. Ended abruptly though.
melonupyours's rating:
Hellsing (2001)
Not as good as the OVAs but it still has Alucard, which is one of the few vampire characters that didn't ruin vampires for me. Packed with action and bloody scenes it delivers.
melonupyours's rating:
Full Metal Panic! (2002)
This show has in the characters interactions its strongest points. I don't personally like mechas very much but this one got me hooked. The presence of a lot of funny scenes which originated a comedy spin-off are a plus.

melonupyours's rating:
The Prince of Tennis (2001)
Very good sports anime. Can be way too unrealistic even for a sports anime sometimes.
melonupyours's rating:
Judging from the ratings i enjoyed this anime more than most people. In my opinion the plot is solid, the characters are great and the battles are good. I believe this anime is way underrated since it delivers the same as some of the popular battle shounens.
melonupyours's rating:
Very interesting and underrated show that has on its characters its strongest suit.
melonupyours's rating:
Last Exile (2003)
Great art and very original technology. I believe it could be better since i didn't get as immersed in the plot as i could be. Still great visual experience.
melonupyours's rating:
I have to rewatch this series because it has been to long since i watched it. Its a good fantasy show, with good characters and a bit of a phylosophical plot.
melonupyours's rating:
Afro Samurai (2007)
Its a solid action anime filled with bloody sword fighting scenes. The voice acting is in English and the main character is played by Samuel L Jackson. (Btw iยดm not a fan of dub versions)
melonupyours's rating:
In my opinion this series deserved more episodes than it has. As a battle shounen i think it is unappreciated since it delivers exactly the same as the popular battle shounens.
melonupyours's rating:
Dragon Ball GT (1996)
The fact that it wasn't based on Akira Toriyama's manga may be the main reason for not being even close to the quality that DB and DBZ delivered. Still if you re a big fan of the predecessor series as I am, you'll have to watch it anyway.
melonupyours's rating:
Chrono Crusade (2003)
Very nice adventure/action anime with a strong romance component. I didn't have great expectations for it, so it was a pleasant surprise when i finished watching the show.
melonupyours's rating:
Speed Grapher (2005)
It isnt that original nor that great but its still pretty watchable. The opening with Duran Duran's Girls on film fits the show like a glove and its a plus.
melonupyours's rating:
Its not my favourite take on the story of the Elric brothers, but its still a pretty decent anime. Its actually very good until they start deviating from the manga storyline. I would recommend FMA Brotherhood over this version, but a fan of the series should watch both.
melonupyours's rating:
Blood+ (2005)
An interesting take on vampires made this show fun enough to stick with it until the end. It's not on my top, but i definitely don't regret having watched it.
melonupyours's rating:
Hunter x Hunter (1999)
I am currently watching the remake and i expect it to be better than this first take. Its is a fairly good battle shounen with interesting characters.
melonupyours's rating:
Another typical modern battle shounen that didn't get me hooked so far. It has potencial but may be i'm getting too old for the genre. With better arcs it can get better.
melonupyours's rating:
Stigma of the Wind (2007)
Good action anime with an interesting main character.
melonupyours's rating:
Popular series with a very weak begging, but it gets pretty watchable after a few episodes.
