" Director: Martin McDonagh His 4th Movie My 4th movie watched from the director A movie about nice people and not nice people. Nice people doing not-so-nice things and not nice people doing nice things. It's about friendship, sibling relationships, loneliness, love for a friend, love for a pet, love of a good pint. It's about music, lack of music, leaving a legacy, going mad and making it known, going mad and not realizing it. It's about abuse of power, abuse of time, and abuse of kindne"

" Colm Doherty "If punching a policeman is a sin, we may as well just pack up and go home.""

"Year: 1923 Location: Inisherin (fictitious island of the Aran Islands), Ireland"

"The map of Ireland as backdrop to their faces. The mystery of a severed finger. "

" Notes: Martin McDonagh had a rather spotless track-record so far but it was easily his best most gorgeous movie so far. Indeed, the action was taking place on some remote island on the coast of Ireland and McDonagh definitely made the most of this beautiful place. On top of that, the cast all gave some really top-notch performances (Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon, Barry Keoghan). My appreciation also had to do with the fact that I understood the point of view of both men. Indeed,"

“To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since it had been very well received, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, Martin McDonagh had a rather spotless track-record but it was easily his best most gorgeous movie so far. Indeed, the action was taking place on some remote island on the coast of Ireland and McDonagh definitely made the most of this beautiful location. On top of that, the whole cast gave some really top-notch performances (Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon, Barry Keoghan). I was especially impressed by Keoghan who is slowly becoming one of the most interesting character actors at work nowadays. My appreciation also had to do with the fact that I understood the point of view of both men. Indeed, I was actually much younger than Co” read more

"And the nominees are... *Brendan Gleeson- The Banshees of Inisherin *Brian Tyree Henry- Causeway/b> *Judd Hirsch- The Fabelmans/b> *Barry Keoghan- The Banshees of Inisherin/b> *Ke Huy Quan- Everything Everywhere All at Once And the Oscar goes to... Outside of BAFTA, which went aggressively European this year, Quan has won everything he needs to to be considered the overwhelming favorite here. The film, the narrative, the performance; it just feels like too strong a triumvirate not to award."
