“I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie but since there was a decent cast involved, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, first of all, I have to admit that I didn't know much about Ernest Hemingway before watching this movie but, apparently, his life could definitely provide some material to make a very good movie. Unfortunately, this movie however didn't really work out, I'm afraid. The first mistake they made was to constantly mix some real vintage documentary footage with some fake footage and with the rest of the movie. I mean, it could have been a nice gimmick if they used it once but they kept going back and forth from black and white to full color over and over again and this trick became so annoying after a while. "3.4 Areena new Kuvaavampi nimi lienee olisi ollut Gellhorn&Hemingway, mutta ehkäpä loogista laittaa se tunnetumpi nimi ensin. Vaikka leffa seurailee enemmän sotakirjeenvaihtaja Gellhornia, ja oli toisaalta huomattavasti kiinnostavampi siltä osin. Talvisodan syttyessä Suomessa olleen Gellhornin Suomen keikkakin huomioidaan leffassa ja kyllähän tv-leffan muutenkin ajankulukseen katsoi."
