If he does not have the paw of a Zemeckis or a Spielberg, the director Fred Dekker nevertheless ensures the spectacle thanks to a good dose of second degree assumed. Efficient, funny, a little clumsy too, but fundam... read more

October 2020 Horrorfest (50 movies items)

"Re-watch - Oct. 31st Halloween Marathon Aside from the use of homophobic insults, the kiddo pretty much loved The Monster Squad (and that's totally fair, they don't sit well with me anymore either...nor does the fact that the only POC character dies or the German neighbor never gets a name). She picked up on the similarities between the monsters as depicted here and their predecessors, and liked seeing a group of kids take them on. Overall we had a great time together, and I'm glad we'll be a"

"Dracula, The Mummy, The Wolf Man, and Gill Monster, maybe monsters, but as The Scary German Guy will tell you, there are such things as real monsters. And he should know, he actual met them and experience them once, too. Plus, the idea of virgin needed in order to open an interdimensional gateway of evil."
