“Since I'm a big fan of Ralph Fiennes, I was quite eager to check this movie. Well, even though it was a well made and quite gorgeous costume drama with some solid performances by Fiennes and Felicity Jones, unfortunately, I can't say I really cared for the damned thing after all. First of all, I have to admit that, even though I'm familiar with most of Dickens's stories, in fact, I have never read one of his books but still, this movie made the misguided attempt of trying to convince the viewers that, somehow, Dickens's life was actually more interesting than his books but, to be honest, this approach rarely works and it certainly didn't work here.
