(OK) Better movie than plot (too poor for being the only Raymond Chandler screenplay), but the match Veronica Ladd is ok and Bendix composes a moving veteran...

Ex-Navy pilot Johnny Morrison returns home from the war to discover his wife is a tramp and an alcoholic, who's been having an affair with a local nightclub owner. After she tells him their son died in an accident caused by her drinking, Johnny leaves her in disgust. Next day Johnny finds out her wife has been murdered, and he's the prime suspect. Now Johnny has to find the real killer before the cops get to him.
