Movies I Watched in December 2020 (51 movies items)

" Date: 12/22/2020 Viewed: Blu-Ray Re-Watch Note: I haven't seen this movie in the last few years and I look forward to watching it when it was announced for Film Club. Oddly enough, I just bought the Blu-Ray from Right Stuf's holiday sale which makes the timing for this review to be perfect. I remember when this movie came out in 2007, but I didn't see it until many years later at my local Anime & Manga club in 2015. Sword of the Stranger is still a great movie and it still holds up. However,"

Film Log 2017 (47 movies items)

"The main attraction of this movie is easily the action sequences. These are some of the best choreographed scenes I've seen in an animated feature. Fast, slick, brutal, and non-bullshit. Such a relief from the usual padded out, lazily cut, power-up ridden fight scenes found in a lot of anime. The background art and animation is fantastic. So why just a 7/10? Mainly because the story isn't that interesting and the characters, while some are pretty good (like the mains), are just used as plot tool"
