"Watched on: April 30th, 2025. Yah... that was oddly paced, oddly acted and the overall storyline (which apparently a jumble of 4-5 different comics at once) is incoherent and boring. I didn't care for anyone in this film. Comic-accurate or not, the first two from the 2000's were definitely better in every way, shape and form."

"I mean, wow! I was obviously aware of its overwhelmingly bad reputation, but it turned out to be far worse than I could have anticipated! I could reiterate what everyone else has said about the quality of the script and especially the CGI, but my real issue is how inhospitable it is to new audiences. I haven't read any of the Hellboy comics, and that ended up very much working against me. Every character and element of the story is thrown at you a mile a minute with no regard for setup or explan"

“Since this movie had been a critical and commercial flop, I wasn’t expecting much but since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, this movie will probably be remembered as the most misguided movie released in 2019. Indeed, ever since ‘Hellboy II: The Golden Army’ had been released, the fans had been demanding to get a third instalment directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Ron Perlman but, instead of finally granting their wish, for some reasons, they decided after all to reboot the damned thing which remains such a bewildering decision. To be honest, I have to admit that I have never been a huge fan of the previous instalments directed by del Toro but, eventually, a Hellboy flick without del Toro turned to be so much worse than I expected.
