An average movie

Honestly, since I'm not a huge fan of musicals, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from the damned thing but since I have always had a weak spot for Audrey Hepburn, I thought it might as well check it out. Well, to be honest, even though it was watchable,  I can't say I really enjoyed. I have to confess, I haven’t seen as many movies as I wish starring Audrey Hepburn but this movie must be t... read more

Dispatched on an assignment, New York City-based fashion photographer Dick Avery (Fred Astaire) is struck by the beauty of Jo Stockton (Audrey Hepburn), a shy bookstore employee he's photographed by accident, who he believes has the potential to become a successful model. He gets Jo to go with him to France, where he snaps more pictures of her against iconic Parisian backdrops. In the process, they fall for one another, only to find hurdles in their way.

1001 Movies ... my own version (1950's) (99 movies items)

" Notes: Well, even if it was watchable, I can't say I really enjoyed this movie though. I have to confess, I haven’t seen as many movies as I wish starring Audrey Hepburn but this movie must be the most boring one I have seen so far. I mean, sure, Hepburn was just really charming as usual and Fred Astaire was definitely a fine dancer (I would always prefer Gene Kelly though) but the story was just way too fluffy for my taste. Obviously, I’m fully aware that it is a trademark in this genre"
