This was a good movie. Not brilliant. Not mind blowing. Not particularly special but good.
For a thriller it took a long time for the "thrill" to occur and when it finally did occur it was unfortunately short lived. However I thought David Morse as the "bad guy" was a good choice, Shia LaBeouf (I think perhaps his parents didn't like him when he was born) on the other hand.. Well I thought... read more

I didn’t expect too much from this film. Figuring it to be pretty much another teen thriller, but from the outset I was pretty impressed.
The dialogue for the first 1/3 of the film is simple allowing the audience to watch LaBeouf settle into his new found confinements. I enjoyed the simplicity of this. Watching LaBeouf explore his limits and settling into his voyeuristic routines. From th... read more

I'm not a big fan of LeBeouf, I feel he brings nothing but the same character to every role. But he did alright here.

He plays a kid who is under house arrest and is so bored that he starts spying on his neighbours. More goes on than a regular neighbourhood though!!!

David Morse proved he can be quite sinister which is exactly what the neighbour needed.

After his father is killed in a car accident, things unravel for Kale Brecht and he is placed under house-arrest for punching his Spanish teacher. Having nothing better to do, Kale occupies himself by spying on his neighbors. But one night, he witnesses what appears to be a murder going on in Mr. Turner's house. Kale becomes obsessed with uncovering the truth behind these murders but, after a few unsettling run-ins with Mr. Turner, it becomes a matter of life and death. A fun thriller with Shia Leboeuf in good form. As Kale who is on house arrest after punching a teacher. Due to boredom he starts spying on neighbors with binoculars. He soon starts to suspect his neighbor Robert (David Morse) is a killer.

No one believes him but his best friend Ronnie (Aaron Yoo) and cute girl next door Ashley (Sarah Roemer). Kale’s obsession with Robert puts them all in danger. Including Kale’s mom (Carrie-Anne Moss).

Spoiler: Though Robert deciding to go after Kale and his mom. After Kale called the cops on Robert fools them and they leave. Makes no sense. Since it only would make Robert guilty if Kale and his mom suddenly disappear.” read more
