A fairly predictable comedy featuring the clash of different people who eventually learn to get along and work together to overcome.

This is really one of those films that Ain't That Bad. While not being great, it's perfectly watchable, the subplots trundle along as you'd expect them to.

Alica Silverstone is pretty interesting however, and the interaction of the whit... read more

Even though I had some rather low expectations concerning this flick, since there was a nice cast involved, I thought I might as well check it out. Unfortunately, the whole thing turned out to be pretty disappointing. First of all, I have seen none of those Barbershop flicks and after seeing this spin-off, I don't really feel up to it... I mean, there was indeed a nice cast (Queen Latifah, Alicia ... read more

The spin-offs count too. That's really the only reason I'm watching this one right now. Plus it does have a pretty decent cast. Bille Woodruff is an average director. He hasn't made anything that really stands out in my opinion. He hasn't made anything just plain awful though so that's good. Elizabeth Hunter also wrote Jumping the Broom which I enjoyed. I have only seen The Mod Squad by Kate Lanie... read more

Gina Norris (Queen Latifah) is a long way from the 'Barbershop' - now she's in Atlanta making a name for herself at a posh Southern salon with her cutting-edge hairstyles. But when her flamboyant, egotistical boss (Kevin Bacon) takes it one criticism too far, she leaves his salon to open a shop of her own, taking the shampoo girl (Alicia Silverstone) and a few key clients (Andie MacDowell, Mena Suvari) with her. Gina buys a rundown salon and inherits an opinionated group of headstrong stylists (including Alfre Woodard), a colorful clientele, and a sexy upstairs neighbor (Djimon Hounsou).

I have only seen The Mod Squad by Kate Lanier, but it was just an average kind of film. Norman Vance Jr. also wrote Pride (the Terrence Howard one) which was pretty good. I feel like this may end up being a decent enough watch. Oh man you can tell this is dated when Michael Vick gets mentioned with positivity. This radio lady kind of reminds me of the woman from The Warriors movie. I wonder why they decided to switch their area. Maybe they ” read more
