This role was and will always belong to this man, sadly timing is everything and its too late for Clint (unless they are filming 'The Dead Man' graphic novel of Dredd's last days).
Nonfictionguy's rating:
Just as the rubber machine kept its role in Jaws 2, so too could Stallone. I'd go with it, if he only kept his helmet on and did minimal lines. But as with Clint, he is getting on a bit for the role.
Nonfictionguy's rating:
The chin is there, the voice is perfect too. He may even be willing to keep the helmet on, so a vote from the fans too. Hmmm This could be our man!
Nonfictionguy's rating:
Action? Yes. Chin? hmm could get away with it. Voice? No way, oh we would have to edit dialogue down quite a bit - not a bad thing. Could work, but unlikely!

Now when you are looking for a chin, this is it! He's done comedy, he knows action films, the more I think about it this could be our man. He also doesn't have a huge ego and would wear the helmet, so he gets my vote.
Nonfictionguy's rating:
Hmm he's certainly done quite a few comic to movie transitions. But perhaps a little too clean-cut for our battle hardened Dredd (But with make-up, hmmm).
Nonfictionguy's rating:
He's certainly done costumes, he can move like a lawman, but can he do robotic. Remember Dredd wasn't emotional at all.
Nonfictionguy's rating:
He's on a high at the moment, but is he a man's man. Could he play the chin? I hope not, I cannot watch him without remembering all those terrible madonna movies.
Nonfictionguy's rating:
If anyone can morph into a role its this great actor. Without a doubt the best actor for the job, but can he do that voice and is his jawline strong enough?
Nonfictionguy's rating:
Having done every 'charming guy' movie out there, Brendan isn't getting any younger, so he could play the mature and quiet Dredd very well. He has a chin and would I think be willing to wear the helmet. I've seen him do quite a few action films. But has he got the voice of authority? He'd have to gargle nails for months to perfect that voice, but it is possible.

Karl Urban has been confirmed for the leading role in Judge Dredd by producers Andrew Macdonald and Allon Reich and is credited for the role at IMDB.
“The main thing about Dredd is that it’s a fantastic comic that was completely messed up 20 years ago," said Macdonald. "Our idea is to make a very hard, R-rated, gritty, realistic movie of Dredd in Megacity, so we’ve got to get the tone right. He’s not going to take off his helmet. His bike is going to feel real. He’s going to hit people and it’s going to feel real."
Yes! This is the chin of the New Dredd. Fingers crossed and now looking forward to the new movie.

Word is out that another Judge Dredd movie is coming, so who will play the leading role? Your nominations please...
With it's mix of satire, political commentary, action, sci-fi and superb pen and ink work, Dredd comics are unique. For the first film fans hoped that Client Eastwood would play the leading role; because he has the chin and the characters image was based on Mr Eastwood anyway in later years. Sadly, as you may know, Sly Stallone took the role and removed his helmet (wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong). Will it happen again, or will the role be played properly this time? I'm very keen to learn.
