Captain Jack Harkness

Highlights: Chiselled and ripped no person can help but fall for Cpt Jack's charms. 1000 years of experience.
Burden: Faced with a harrowing childhood, the loss of his brother and facing eternal life.

Bio:
The details of Jack's past are hazy at best. He comes from somewhere in the Earth's far different future. Harkness lost his brother to an unknown alien hoard, and is plagued by is less than perfect relationship with his father. For reasons which are yet to be divulged, Harkness cannot die or be killed. Over the years he has developed a keen intuition as well as a stomach you could do your washing on.

Gwen Cooper



Species: Human
Role: Police liaisons, enforcement

Highlights: Teaching the team to care more for the emotional repercussions of their actions. Being promoted from the Police to Torchwood.
Burden: Trying to maintain a relationship with a man outside of Torchwood. Being a very sensitive person, Gwen takes a lot of the horrible things she sees to heart.
Sexual Orientation: Straight (Mostly)

Bio: Gwen is hailed at the heart of the Torchwood team, she is not as distant or cold as the others, and is resigned to maintaining a real life and real relationship outside of Torchwood. Gwen displays some keen fighting skills as well and has found the affections of both Owen and Jack as well as husband Rhys. Gwen is similar to Cpt. Jack in that she is seemingly irresistible to others.

Owen Harper



Species: Human
Role: Medical Officer

Highlight: Single handily taking on a manor full of thugs and laser beams. Excellent surgical skills.
Burden: Existing as a reanimated corpse, Owen can no longer enjoy any of the pleasures of the flesh.
Sexual Orientation: Straight

Bio: Owen, a brilliant surgeon, is a self confessed cold fish. His life's pursuits are mostly shallow, although he has found himself engaged in a few moments of depth. *Spoiler ahead* Owen, in a twist of irony was killed and reanimated, now as a corpse he no-longer has senses, and finally realises what he missed in life.

Ianto Jones



Species: Human
Role: General Support

Highlight: Becoming Cpt Jacks latests bit.
Burden: Losing the love of his life to the Cybermen.
Sexual Orientation: Bi-sexual

Bio: Starting out in Torchwood as a gopher and dogsbody, Ianto worked his way up to become an integral part of the Torchwood team in enforcement as well as paper work. Ianto was transferred from Torchwood 1, he was introduced early as a troubled soul. *Spoiler* Ianto's girlfriend was half transformed by the Cybermen, despite her being a clear danger to the earth, he kept her in the basement of Torchwood, attempting to cure her. Ianto is currently in a tryst with Cpt. Harkness.

Toshiko Sato



Species: Human
Role: Computer Specialist

Highlight: Straightening out a breach in the time-space continuum, saving the planet
Burden: Hopelessly lonely, unrequited love of Owen.
Sexual Orientation: Straight

Bio: Computer genius Toshiko is in charge of all the technology within Torchwood 3. She is a loner, who has held a long standing unrequited love for Owen Harper. Tosh is very much overlooked within the Torchwood team, she takes a back seat and is somewhat resentful of the attentions given to Gwen.

Martha Jones



Species: Human
Role: UNIT Liaison, Enforcer, Medical Officer

Highlight: Kicking it with the Doctor, saving the Earth.
Burden: Unrequited love for the Doctor.
Sexual Orientation: Straight

Bio: Former assistant to the Doctor, Martha now works for U.N.I.T, she casually blows in and out of Torchwood when her assistance is required. Martha holds great skill in both the Medical and military fields. After leaving the Doctor's side, due to her unrequited love for him, Martha finished her medical studies and found her own within the paranormal military organisations of U.N.I.T and Torchwood.

Captain John Hart



Species: Human Variant
Role: Rogue/ Time Agent

Highlight: Travelling through time having sex with Captain Jack
Burden: Damaged soul, unrequited love.
Sexual Orientation: Everything.

Bio: Time Agent and general sex hound, Cpt Hart breezes in and out of various time periods, in search of power and pleasure. Him and Jack spent a good deal of time stuck in a time flux, in this time they got together and wore great jackets. It is very unclear as to where his allegiances lie, although he attempted to kill the entire Torchwood team, he seems to show a degree of repentance for his actions, and a genuine care/ love for Cpt. Jack.

Suzie Costello



Species: Human
Role: Police Liaison, Enforcer

Highlight: Avenging her troubled past by killing her father.
Burden: Temporarily reanimated, traitor to the team.
Sexual Orientation: Straight

Bio: Suzie was a key member of Torchwood, until she turned on the team for her own selfish exploits. She was killed by Jack and replaced by Gwen Cooper. *Spoiler* Suzie is later reanimated and again begins a rampage, in which he takes her revenge on her distant father and her replacement.

Rhys Williams



Species: Human
Role: Outsider

Highlight: Marrying Gwen Cooper, discovering the secret of Torchwood and extra-terrestrial life.
Burden: Having a somewhat unrequited adoration for the love of his life.
Sexual Orientation: Straight

Bio: Rhys is not a member of Torchwood, but finds him self occasionally wrapped up in extra terrestrial activity, because of wife Gwen. Due to his allegiance with Gwen, Torchwood decide not to wipe his memory. Rhys has found himself a key part of a few Torchwood missions and has made a fair input in protecting the earth. He is constantly concerned about the strength of his relationship with Gwen, whose work tears her gradually away from him and 'real life'.
