Why do I like it? The question-mark bellybutton, the lack of colours aside from flesh tones, the rose. This is very simple, but you would always know which movie it is!

Dawn Patrol
Why do I like it? This is what this movie is all about. A bold choice, just showing a woman bending over, but it works. I like the use of white space, which others are often afraid of!

Why do I like it? This is the new bond, no explosions necessary in the background, we know HE is going to. Colours very muted, lots of blacks, greys, etc - masculine all over! The gun only helps.

Why do I like it? Wonderful use of white space - this stands out in a sea of hyperactive posters. Also good twist on the tagline.

Why do I like it? This sums up the entire movie and certainly the bit most people will remember. Glad they didn't put his finger on the starburst of light.

Why do I like it? I don't, I've never seen a person cut out so badly and stuck over other images. This is the sort of work I wouldn't have been proud to have produced as a sixteen year old trainee designer, however it is the best of a bad bunch. Ghost Lake is a far better poster (in terms of look/impact), but a high-resolution poster of that movie is very hard to find.

Why do I like it? How could I not?! I'm all emotional/paternal now that I'm a dad too.
Before you see any movie, you will typically experience its poster first, even if its just in the lobby. These works of art/graphic design sometimes give you a glimpse of the movie, a clue as to what to expect. Other times they conceal the truth of the movie, for good cause - because its dire! This list is about the best posters, the ones that grab my attention or ones that stuck with me over time, its not about the quality of the film.
Oh and please do allow for personal preference here, this is a list of movie posters that I appreciated or liked (not just award winners). I've also listed the official blurb from each company or the people that created them.
