Why do I like it? They should be dead, death just needs to catch up with each of them, so showing them in both states works so well.

Why do I like it? Its just silhouettes but you know its New York and about a plane. The smoking twin towers helps date events to the day!

Why do I like it? If Sir Alan Sugar looked this good, I'd watch the Apprentice! Masculine colours, attire and pose makes such a feminine figure/face stand out so much more. The leather chair and strip lighting place this movie firmly at work!

Why do I like this movie? Less is more, you don't need to see the characters to get a sense of tension/terror. Shadows when used properly work really well!

Why do I like this? Not great, being run down by a large vehicle isn't that scary (lay flat and it'll go over you!). But I like the colouring of this poster. Hmm is it black and red again?

Why I Like it? What better way to express impending doom?! Lots of blacks and reds here too!

Before you see any movie, you will typically experience its poster first, even if its just in the lobby. These works of art/graphic design sometimes give you a glimpse of the movie, a clue as to what to expect. Other times they conceal the truth of the movie, for good cause - because its dire! This list is about the best posters, the ones that grab my attention or ones that stuck with me over time, its not about the quality of the film.

Oh and please do allow for personal preference here, this is a list of movie posters that I appreciated or liked (not just award winners). I've also listed the official blurb from each company or the people that created them.

Due to the size of this project, lists will appear alphabetically by designer.
